Welcome, and for the means, a Huawei Y6S, and today I'll show you a couple of tweaks and tricks that you can do on this device
0:11
So we're going to begin with the home screen style which will get rid of this
0:15
obnoxious Apple-esque appearance with all the icons smack in the middle of your home screen
0:20
and create a up drawer. So to get started let's go into settings and from there, home screen and wallpaper
0:30
And here you have home screen style. Stop on that, choose drawer, give it a moment it needs to adjust to the better changes, and there we go
0:42
And from here you can see that you have this button right here to gain access to the up drawer
0:47
And you can basically remove everything that you have on the home screen
0:51
See if you can... So you can select all of them like so
0:56
Grab it. grab it and remove. Boom, remove, grab a folder too, remove it
1:06
And you can see that now we're on a single page and the apps are still here, they just are in the up trade
1:12
That's the first thing. Now moving on, we're going to go into split screen which will allow you to use two different apps at the same time
1:19
A fairly good use for it is to listen to YouTube and have the video open on the top
1:25
and then, for instance, browse your internet on the bottom. on the bottom. Let me just quickly connect to some Wi-Fi
1:36
You just put in a password There we go So now I can go back to YouTube
1:49
And now whatever app you want to have on top, you want to open first and to split screen
1:54
So to open it, go into recent. And you'll see YouTube right here
2:00
And next to it you have these two bars. So top on that, it opens it up in split screen
2:05
screen and then you have list of all the apps right here which you can either choose one of them you can also tap on the home button and it goes into home and
2:14
minimizes YouTube in the background and you can open up any kind of other
2:18
app so let's just use Pro and from here can resize it like so let me just mute
2:27
you go so I can turn something on like so and you can see now that the video is playing
2:45
I can interact with it, and I can also do other stuff right here
2:51
and it will not stop. Also, if you click home, it will be a little bit smaller, but it still plays and doesn't stop
3:00
So yeah. Now, if you want to close this, all you need to do is drag it up or down
3:05
and if you drag it down it will go into full screen so then you would actually have to
3:11
click on a home button as well and as you can see it's now done
3:16
okay so moving on i going to go into the simple mode which is more cater towards elderly people to help them navigate to the device And what it does is just takes all the essential apps and makes them gigantic and
3:29
basically takes up the entire screen with like six apps. So we can go into the settings and from there
3:37
go into system and you should find simple mode right here. And you have a bit of a
3:45
image right here, how it will look, although it doesn't really show much. but you can see that the apps are way bigger and take up way more space
3:53
Now I'm not going to enable it because I think the device needs to reboot and I will turn it off anyway so that'll just kind of a waste of time for this
4:03
But as you can see it's right here and you can enable it if you wish to have it on
4:07
Now next thing I wanted to go on to is the gesture navigation
4:12
So if you're not a fan of these dated buttons that are on the bottom you can switch it up for gesture navigations
4:17
navigations by going into this system right here and you also have system navigation
4:23
up on gesture and if you're launching it for the first time it will give you a tutorial you
4:28
can cancel it and disregard it or start it as the next up i'm just going to go into it so you can
4:33
also see it but basically to go back you can swipe from either side of the display so left or right
4:39
goes back swiping up goes home do it like so go and swipe up and hold will go to recent as you can see
4:55
And that's basically how it works. Now back buttons don't actually work
4:59
It doesn show up the arrow if you ready as far back as you can go And if I were to open for instance setting and I drag from a side you can see that there an arrow appearing from either side
5:10
and let me from this side then you can see there is the arrow and if I let go it goes back
5:17
so just a nice way of navigating and it removes the buttons from the bottom and so it
5:22
pushes everything a little bit lower so moving to the last thing that I want to show is the
5:28
show password or what it's actually counterintuitive to what it does the option is checked on
5:36
and what it does is whenever you have a password that you're typing in for instance like right here
5:41
you can see that every time i press a letter it's visible till it's get substituted with a newer one
5:46
or after like one or two seconds and i'm not a great as fan of this it shows basically your
5:53
password if someone is looking at your typing slowly they can read your entire password so there is a way to
5:58
to block that so there is no letters visible and to do it you go into settings and
6:05
security and privacy then into more settings encryption then credentials and here you'll find a short password option so just disable that and now if we
6:17
go back to typing in a password like this right here for instance you will see
6:25
that there's no more letter visible so fairly nice change so you can keep your device a little bit more secure
6:32
But this would conclude all the tweaks and tricks that I want to share. And if you found this very helpful, don't forget to hit like, subscribe, and thanks for watching
