Now, doing so will allow you to get rid of a screen lock if you have one set that you don't know

Now, before you go all jolly trying to remove your screen lock, I'm going to also mention that this will possibly lock your device

if the device is also logged in into a Google account, which probably almost everybody's phone is

So just to explain this, when you reset such a device that has Google account and screen lock

once the reset is finished and you go into the setup, it will force you to verify one of the old methods

so either the Google account or the screen lock. And assuming you don't know either of those, your device will basically become a brick

Now, that being said, I will be recording a video on how you can completely bypass this

and then remove it altogether from a device without providing any of this info, but that will be in a separate video

So, let's just get straight into this one. I'm going to lock the device and progress from the lock screen as though I don't know my pattern

Now, to get started we're going to hold our power button and then we're going to select power off

When the device turns off, you want to hold your power button and volume up at the same time

After a moment you should see the TECNO logo on the screen

There we go. At which point you want to let go of the power button, but keep holding volume up

Next you will see the Android with no command, so to get past this we're going to start holding power button and press volume up once

which will then redirect us to the recovery mode. And here, using volume buttons either up or down to navigate respectfully up or down

you want to select wipe data factory reset. Once it's selected, confirm it with the power button, then select factory data reset

After a moment it will give us a message that formatting data was complete, like this one

or data wipe complete, and reboot system now will be selected by default

so press power button once again to initiate the said reboot. Now, while the device is rebooting, it's also going to be continuing the reset in the background

so it will take it a little bit longer to boot back up. Don't worry, that's completely normal

Once the entire process is finished, we'll be presented with Android setup screen
