In front of me is a Samsung Galaxy A80 and today I will show you how to set up a fingerprint ID

So, starting off you want to open up the settings app, which can be located in two different places

In the app drawer, as you can see right here, by pulling up or down, like so

Or by pulling down the notification panel and you'll have this gear icon right here, so you can just tap on it

And from here you want to navigate into biometrics and security, which is right here

And from here you'll see the first option, fingerprints, so tap on it and you'll get a message to stop and continue

And before you can set up a fingerprint, you need to add a different method of unlocking the device apart from the fingerprint

And you have a choice from pattern, PIN or password. It doesn't matter what you choose, you can pick whatever you like

I'm just going to choose the pattern. And I'm going to draw the pattern, tap on continue, redraw the same pattern once more and tap on confirm

And then I get to start scanning my fingerprint, so let's begin doing that

As you can see now it's done. You can add another one if you like for a different finger or maybe try to scan the same finger more for a more accurate read

But I'm just going to keep with one and then tap on done

And now as you can see there is the fingerprint that we have just added and you can add another one here as well

And then also check added fingerprints. But now if we go back, unlock the device, it will require a fingerprint as you can see this little icon right here or a pattern

So each way works. Unlocking it and now your device is more secure
