Welcome and Phnom is a Motorola Moto Z3 Play and today I'll show a couple
0:10
tweaks and tricks that you can do on this device. So to get started we're going to
0:15
begin with the device theme which will allow you to set up a darker or lighter
0:20
theme on your device in certain parts of it so for instance when you pull down the notification panel as you can see right now it's in a light mode even though it's I
0:29
I believe right now it's set to be automatic and I would clearly define this wallpaper as a dark wallpaper so it also should set the notification to dark
0:38
But you can basically go to the settings and then display to set it to be
0:44
static so let's go to advance, scroll down, device theme and let's stop on dark and now when you go
0:52
there we go and you pull it down you have this darker theme. So it just adds a little bit more of a pleasant look
0:59
in my opinion. I just prefer it personally. Then moving on, we're going to go into the option to show
1:04
password or, well, in a way, do the exact opposite of that. That's kind of how the option is called
1:10
but just to get started, I'm going to show you right now it's enabled, or, well, actually
1:18
disabled, so show password is disabled. And as you can see, when you're typing in a password
1:24
there is no visible letter in your chain right here. as it normally would be visible for a second
1:32
And to set it up as it is right now for me, you would go into these settings and then to security and location
1:39
Scroll down, go to Advanced. And there it is, so it's show password
1:43
and just disable this as it is right now. And you will then be able to, well
1:48
not show your password in a way as you're typing it. And then moving on, we're going to go again to the security option
1:56
which is the screen pinning. So it's already enabled. And let me just quickly show you how to enable it
2:07
Because you can turn it on and just kind of forget about it until you need it So let go back to the security and location Again down advanced scroll down and you have the screen pinning right here And you want to turn it on And then also make
2:20
sure that this is checked on as well. Otherwise, this option kind of defeats the purpose. When you turn
2:24
this on, it will actually prompt you to put in a pattern. So if you don't have one, you will
2:30
have to basically set up on. So you will have a choice between pen, pattern, or password. Choose whichever
2:35
one suits you, it doesn't really matter there. And then once you have enabled both of them, as an example, someone wants to call someone
2:44
from your phone because of whatever bogus reason they have. So you can open up the dialer, tap on recent, tap right here, pinned it out
2:56
And as you can see, it gives you a message how to unpin it, and even if you try to leave
2:59
it, it will basically show you how to unpin it. basically if someone is trying to be sneaky and has a little bit more intelligence than a typical jellyfish
3:09
they will probably be able to read this right here and unpin it
3:14
But if you unpin it now with that option, it simply likes the device and you need to put in the pattern
3:20
So that other person doesn't know the pattern too, they're basically stuck on the lock screen and without it they can't really leave it
3:28
So just a nice way to make your device secure if someone wants to use it and you just don't want them to be
3:34
ravaging around and all the other places where they shouldn't be. So moving around, moving on, we're going to go into the animation speed
3:46
which just allows you to change the animation speed. Now, inherently there is no setting, I believe, for this on the phone
3:53
but you can find it in the developer options which are hidden
3:59
So let's go into the settings, scroll all the way down to system, about phone
4:03
and then tap on the build number seven times now for me it says no need
4:07
I'm already a developer but for you once you top on seven stop on it seven times
4:12
it will give you a live screen where you just get to put in the pin or pattern if you have one set
4:17
if you don't it will just tell you you are now a developer and from there let's go back
4:22
and you should see developer options somewhere in here and there it is so I right now in settings and System So let stop on developer options From here scroll down past like halfway
4:34
I think I already passed it, there we go. And you have these three options. So window animation scale, transition animation scale
4:40
and animation duration scale. And you can choose each one of them
4:44
Now, each one of those options corresponds to different kinds of animations. So as an example, the first one
4:50
window animation scale, is this window that pops up. and as an example i can change it to times 10 and you'll see how slow it opens right now
4:59
now by default everything is set to one but you can set it to for instance half speed all of them
5:05
and like i said each one of them corresponds to different points so you have the animation scale
5:10
transition animation scale which is just a transitional scale and animation duration scale which is
5:15
just any kind of like this closing and opening and as you can see all these animations of closing
5:22
zooming in out are now significantly faster than they were previously. So that is how you could speed them up
5:29
Or if you want you can basically set it to off like so
5:35
And now there won't be any kind of animation whatsoever. As you can see there is no zooming, it just pops in and out instantly
5:42
So that is just more drastic approach to this if you want to speed up the use of an app substantially
5:51
And then moving on to the last thing that I wanted to show. show is the Moto app and in there we have a bunch of settings if you go into the features right
6:00
here for instance Moto actions you have several things so lift awake media control just I think
6:08
it's in a lock screen editing a three-finger screenshot one button navigation this is probably one
6:15
of the better ones that I personally like and once enabled it just brings up this one
6:19
button navigation so in other words it's just a gesture navigation now normally when
6:25
you first set up the device let me just disable this when you first stop the device after
6:30
I don't know a couple minutes you should see like a greenish basically the same color as
6:35
the tuggles button right here and you can tap on it and we ask you if you want to enable this one button navigation so you can then choose to do so But if you dismissed it back then you can go to the Moto app and just enable it right here
6:51
But as you can see, when you go go down, there is several other options
6:55
You can also go to Moto Display. So you have a few things to tweak around if you want here
7:02
But personally, I find the gesture navigation deepest out of all of those
7:08
So the way it works is you can basically go to recent if you swipe up and hold
7:16
tap on it, it looks like topping on it goes home, and also if you want to go back, so let me just open up
7:24
you can slide to the side because I believe there is no, yeah, there is no side swipes
7:31
So depending, actually I'm actually being confused by this, so, It actually doesn't work normally
7:40
Let's see. That goes home. So let's go back to the settings
7:47
That also goes home. Trying to figure out where the butt button is
7:57
That just goes to another app. Okay, let's just probably do the smart thing
8:07
smart thing and read how to use it so learn more there we go so navigation
8:16
cool is there any other way to swipe left to go back swipe left to go back so
8:28
probably this and now we have back so it looked like we needed to change it so
8:35
So there we go. But this would conclude all the tweaks and tricks that I wanted to show
8:42
And if you find any of them helpful, don't forget like, subscribe and thanks for watching. watching
