Welcome. In front of me, I have the Samsung Galaxy Fold 4, and today I'll show you how you can apply the hydro gel screen protector or whatever the fencing name for it is to the front of it
0:17
Now this is strictly for the front. I'm not going to touch upon the inside. This is a brand new device, and hopefully none of you needs to switch anything inside of the device just yet
0:27
seven months hasn't passed since the release of it but so anyway
0:33
I have my screen protector right here now I did realize once I got it that this is four fold three
0:40
and this is fold four so I guess we'll see if this
0:43
covers the display correctly hopefully it does though it might not constrain the displays a little bit I think wider and the hinges are smaller
0:54
so just we'll see If not, they're just not going to cover it fully
1:00
Now, anyway, one thing to know about this specific screen protector, apart from the fact that they literally give you a link to their site
1:12
so you can watch the video on how to apply it, I guess you could do that instead of watching this
1:17
So, I went there, and they didn't really have an application for this specific device
1:24
and overall they were applying it on the back for the hydro drill. So whatever. They do have nice music, nice vibes for it
1:34
But here I'm going to go over the actual like applications so you can see it on this specific device
1:40
So anyway, as you can see this is from AP Go. So here we go
1:46
Now here we get something to clean off the display. So let's start off with..
1:56
So let's start off with doing that. And Lord, oh Lord, look at this
2:04
Nice. Thank you. And it actually smells, hmm, nice. Has a citric smell to it
2:10
I like it. The reason I'm freaking out about this is because the size of this
2:14
it's so good. Usually, if you ever bought any kind of tempered glass
2:19
or stuff like that, you get the tiniest little wipe which you have to utilize
2:25
It's basically the size of this. one square and yeah go go have fun but here we have an entire like cloth so anyway once
2:33
you clean off your display really nicely it looks like it oh there we go I took
2:43
that that's already a scratch but it cleans it off really nicely without leaving any
2:48
smudges so actually see if I use this and it doesn't do anything so I'm gonna keep
2:55
this around because it leaves no smudges and oh sorry if my head got in the way and I just kind of
3:05
cover it up so the dust won settle on it although actually it won really matter for now Now once you have your displayed cleaned you probably will want to grab something with a straight edge
3:18
So let's see if I can find anything in my wallet. Straight edge
3:30
I guess this will work. So there we go. Any kind of plastic card, like this one, shoot a function card
3:37
should function correctly. The reason for that is, you might be wondering
3:41
is because this kind of application requires you to peel it off first
3:45
from this kind of whatever it is applied to. This will have a sticky side. You just
3:51
place it on correctly. You don't care about the air bubbles at that point
3:55
You just place it incorrectly. And then you will lift it up
3:59
and it has like these layers under here. Literally right here. And you just flip it over
4:05
and then using the card, you will smooth it out to basically cover the entire display without any kind of smudges
4:10
Hopefully I can get this correctly, but we'll see how that goes
4:15
Haven't ever done that, so fingers crossed it goes well. I'm gonna grab one more thing if I can find it
4:33
I'm gonna grab one more thing if I can find it. It was somewhere here
4:43
Ah, I got off on it. My little rubber. So I can place the phone on here
4:53
So it won't slide too much. Okay, so I'm going to take it off of this
5:03
I think I just did it incorrectly. I take this entire thing
5:17
Ah, maybe... okay, so I think we need to take this entire thing off
5:22
Hopefully I didn't break it already. Damn it! So it didn't come off, it's split right here
5:36
As you can see there is... Oh, no go, there is a cut. So that's where you would just kind of flip one side and then lift it out
5:43
So let's try this again. There we go. There we go
6:06
I did get a little bit of a curve. Hopefully that won't mess up anything
6:12
I'm just going to place it roughly in the place because I want to light it up and have something white so I can see the camera Play Store Nope dark team God
6:34
Damn it. There we go. So you can see that the camera has misaligned for me right now
6:52
Okay, we have a problem because this display is longer or the fold three was longer
7:00
So this one's really fit correctly. That's a bit of an oopsie there
7:09
Anyway, I'm just gonna kind of finish this off anyway, applying this I guess to the best of my ability just so you can see how it's done
7:16
So once you have these two layers on here, applied. What you will want to do is..
7:24
There we go. So what you will want to do is... Just not care about these air bubbles
7:35
So we're going to first lift off the entirety. So grabbing the entire sticky thing along with the screen protector
7:42
because I don't know if you can see this. Hopefully you can
7:46
So right now we have two things. We have this and we have the actual cut
7:50
and we have the actual cutout on the screen protector. So, you want to grab by the outside of it
7:58
So it pulls out the entirety along with the screen protector. Go halfway
8:04
And you flip it over like so, and it should start splitting
8:17
There we go. Just a tiny bit of air bubbles at the top
8:24
There we go. Anyway, so we got half of it done. Can we kind of see it
8:30
And we're going to do the same thing for the other half. I'm going to flip the phone over
8:38
Gonna again lift up the entirety. Flip it over on itself and then start pushing with the card
8:50
There we go. Now at the very end we do have a little bit of bubbles right here
9:00
Hopefully you can push those out. If not you could kind of lift it up just a little bit and try to get it in place correctly
9:08
I mean the air bubbles out of there. But I'm going to fiddle around with this later on
9:15
So maybe I can just try to do it right here. Okay, so that actually went pretty well
9:24
I'm going to try also to do this other side. Let me try to get the light correctly so you can kind of see the..
9:32
I can kind of see it right now. Sorry if the lighting is right now all messy but at least you can see the bubbles right here So I guess for me I can lift it up with my finger just because it extends a little bit further
9:46
In your case, you most likely have the correct one. So what you would probably want to use is something really small, maybe tweezers or something like that
9:55
You can just lift it up, do it as gentle as you can. If you manage to just damage the underside of it, it might not stick as well or it might just create air bubbles on its own
10:05
just because it will be deformed a little bit for me it's a little bit easier because I
10:10
can at least right here at the bottom lift it up easily there we go you can see now it's good
10:20
now in terms of the the top side it might be a little bit easier just because we still have this
10:27
portion so we can grab onto this and still lift it up
10:35
so that one pretty good up on the top almost got rid of everything I just got a couple more here
10:47
I can't really get them easily because this is getting a little bit in a way I'm going to
10:52
completely disregard them and just try to now separate these two layers
10:59
Oh, there we go. So you can see it's kind of separating
11:11
There's this weirdness under the camera lens, but we're gonna fix it up in a second
11:20
There we go. I created this weird thing when we're gonna
11:29
coming off but that's fine. Okay, so another thing that we need to do is
11:36
hopefully not damage the lens. Probably would not want to use that
11:48
Tweezers would be really nice for this, which I don't have them lying around so
11:55
it's a little bit of a shame. Ah, there we go. Oh, that literally like jumped out of there
12:06
So as you can see, we don't have anything in here anymore. And last thing to do would be to clean off the display
12:18
Well, that's dry now. So there we go, just a rough application right here
12:36
