In front of me is a OnePlus 10 Pro and today I'll show you how you can set up your hotspot
0:14
So to get started, pull down your notification tray from the top middle side or middle not
0:20
really side, extend it and look for the toggle for the hotspot
0:33
It's right over here for me. So once you locate your toggle, make sure your airplane mode isn't on like it is for me
0:41
I can't really access the settings, I think. I just can't turn it on when it's in airplane mode
0:49
So I'm going to turn it off, there we go. And from here, to get started, obviously you want to hold the toggle
0:57
This will take you to the settings and from here you can select hotspot settings and most
1:02
likely start off by changing the password, which is just some randomly generated password
1:07
You can remove this one and set your own. It does need to have 8 characters in length, at which point you can just tap on the checkbox
1:14
and save it. Right here, the name implies the name of the hotspot that this will create
1:21
This is going to be obviously the name you will be looking for in your Wi-Fi list
1:25
And below that we have a couple of additional options like the AP band, visible to other
1:29
devices, which I wouldn't recommend changing this one, and also utilization of Wi-Fi 6
1:39
The easiest way to explain, for instance, the AP band and Wi-Fi 6 is, if you don't know
1:44
what it is, I probably would recommend you to keep it as it is
1:47
And this will ensure that no matter what you will use to connect to this hotspot with
1:52
will support it. If you know what they are, obviously I will know that the higher one is better, but not
1:59
every device will support it. That's basically the simple explanation. I'll keep it as it is
2:07
Save it and there we go. Now make sure you do save it with a checkbox
2:10
If you just go back, it won't actually change the settings. And from here, you can tap on right here, the checkbox right here to turn on your hotspot
2:20
or obviously you can also do it from the little toggle right here
2:28
And one last thing, which I just seen, when you actually turn on your hotspot, it has
2:34
this option right here for the QR code. So you can grab a different phone, as an example, and I can quickly show you
2:43
So for me, this is in the camera section. So if I open up my camera, I can tap right here for the QR scanner
2:53
As you can see, right here, the first one, scan code scanner
2:58
I can just simply scan this. It automatically finds the hotspot. It already knows the password, so I don't even need to type anything on my phone
3:06
I can just do connect and that's it. And I'm now connected to, well, not this path, for some reason, disconnected it
3:14
Probably because it has no network actually. Oh, there it is. And if I would have network, it would most likely stay with it, but my phone decided
3:22
to switch back to something that actually has some network. So there we go
3:26
Quick and easy way to actually share your hotspot with other people without giving them
3:31
any kind of passwords. Now once you're done with the hotspot, make sure you turn it off by tapping on the toggle
3:39
once again. The hotspot does consume more battery on your phone, so there is no real reason for it to
3:44
be running in the background if you're not really using it. And that being said, if you found this video helpful, don't forget to hit like, subscribe
