Welcome, I'm Fredomis in LG G8X and today I'll show you how to transfer files from your
0:13
device to an SD card and vice versa. And to begin we will need to open up the files app which is located in the Google folder
0:20
So let's open it up. And from here continue if it pops up with anything
0:27
From here I'm going to start with the internal storage. The SD card basically has the same folders so I'm just going to go over one
0:35
And in here you can see these folders. So the most important ones would be the DCIM which will contain pictures and videos captured
0:44
with the device. Then downloads folder will contain anything that you have downloaded through a web browser
0:49
or email. All gets saved here. Then below that we have pictures folder which usually contains screenshots and that's about it
0:59
Most of the other folders are primarily empty assuming some specific app didn't save anything
1:04
to it. Specific meaning one that you have for instance downloaded from a Play Store
1:10
So I'm going to use photos which look like they're going to be on an SD card actually
1:17
Yup, there they are. So as you can see I'm going to use these photos and it also looks like there is a deficit
1:25
of folders here. So a little bit less than on the internal storage
1:31
But once you find your files you want to select them and you do it by simply holding it
1:36
As you can see it will change it and then you can tap on addition once to select more
1:41
And you can also tap on a three dots and go to select all if you want to select everything
1:47
That is one way or you can select all deselect ones that you might not want
1:53
And if you want to select all I would probably advise you to go for the folder itself
1:57
This will keep it a little bit more organized. So in this way it will basically select everything that is inside the folder along with it
2:05
So once you have selected whichever way you prefer tap on the three dots and choose either
2:10
move or copy to. Obviously move will completely remove those files from where they are right now while
2:15
copy will just create an additional set of it. So I'm going to go with move
2:19
Once you choose one of the options it will bring up this window right here so you can select where you want to move them
2:25
Now my photos are right now on the SD card so I'm going to choose the internal storage
2:30
and from here simply navigate where you want to move it. So right now this is just the main directory but you could navigate into specific folders
2:38
and drop it in there if you wanted to. I'm not going to really bother so I'm just going to tap move here, allow and there we go
2:47
As you can see I am still on the SD card under the DCIM folder and the camera folder that
2:52
was in here is completely gone and now it can be found somewhere here
2:57
There we go, just now camera and there are the four photos that I have captured
3:03
So the same process will work for any kind of file. You basically hold it, select it and choose if you want to move or copy it
