Welcome, I'm Flamm using LG V40 ThinQ and today I'll show you how to transfer
0:10
files from the device to an SD card or vice versa. So to get started you want to
0:15
open up the file manager app which will be located in the management folder right
0:19
here. The yellow folder, there we go. And once you open it you'll be straight in
0:25
your phone's memory as you can see all the folders right here and have access
0:32
to your photos right here, screenshots, music, downloaded content, anything. So if
0:39
you're wondering where is what, photos and videos that you have captured with the device will be under DCIM folder. Right here you can see I have some files
0:48
to move. Pictures will have screenshots which I don't think there is any, there
0:53
we go. Then you also have movies, music which are usually placed there by users
1:00
so you would probably know and downloads will have anything that you have
1:03
downloaded using the browser or email stuff like that. So to move it first
1:09
locate your files, for me it's gonna be these pictures right here. So you want to
1:16
select them and to select them tap on the three dots and you have the two options either copy or move. Choose whichever one suits you. Move will
1:24
completely remove them from where they are and move them to the new
1:27
location of your choice. While copy will just create additional copy of them
1:31
while keeping the old ones where they are right now. So whichever one you choose you will then get to select them. You can select which ones you want
1:39
You can select all of them as well or probably the better way to do it, just
1:44
cancel this, is to just select the entire folder if you want to move all of them
1:49
So if you want to move all the content you would just select the entire folder
1:53
so just tap on move for instance and do this and then, oops, and then tap on move
1:59
like so and it gives you the two different storages. So we have the SD
2:03
card and the internal storage. Now the files that I'm moving are located right
2:07
now on the internal storage so I'll move them to the SD card so that's what I'm
2:11
gonna choose here and also they originated from the DCIM folder so
2:16
that's where I will want to put them in but again might as well just put them
2:20
right here if you wish it doesn't actually matter how you organize it it
2:24
just matter of preference right now and what is easier for you to find later on
2:28
So I'm gonna keep it organized and put it right here. Now as you can see there
2:33
is already a camera folder which I want to move which I can tap on OK and it will
2:38
replace it but just before I do you can see that this one is empty at the moment
2:42
Now if you go to a location that you don't want to put the files in
2:48
don't press the bug button it completely screws up the entire process basically
2:53
actually I will just show it as an example don't follow this at the moment
2:57
but if you press bug it takes you back to the folder that you want to select
3:01
and then you have to tap move again and navigate to the location again because
3:06
bug button is in such a weird place it's basically this bar right here so if I
3:12
locate right here for instance and I want to go back I would have to tap on
3:15
the specific directory like so otherwise if I press the bug it completely screws
3:20
up everything. So choose where you want to move it and I'm gonna move it here
3:25
like I said before and then tap on OK and you see that the camera already
3:30
exists overwrite so I'll tap on override and now we're still on the SD card so if
3:36
I tap on it you can see that now all the pictures are in the SD card and the DCIM
3:41
camera folder which previously was empty and if I were to go back now to
3:46
the internal storage just do that there we go internal storage that's where pictures were originally and as
3:58
you can see the folder is now fully empty so that is how you move files on
4:03
your device and if you found this video helpful don't forget to hit like subscribe and thanks for watching
