Welcome. In front of me is a realme C17 and today I'll show you how you can enable and also set up
0:06
your portable hotspot. To get started you want to open up your notification panel by swiping down
0:15
from the top of the screen like so and then swipe down once again to extend the list of toggles
0:20
On one of the pages you should be able to find the hotspot toggle so if you don't see it on the
0:24
first one swipe to the left and this will show you additional pages. Now by default I believe
0:29
the personal hotspot will be literally the last toggle visible right here but I could be wrong
0:34
In any case for me it is on the second page and once you see this toggle if you're doing
0:38
this the first time around hold it. This will quickly take you to the settings. In here we
0:44
can change things like the hotspot name and also the password. Now the one that is more important
0:50
I would argue is the password. By default it will be randomly generated and without navigating in
0:56
here you have no way of knowing what it is. Now I do recommend removing this garbage and setting
1:03
up your own new password which will need to have at least eight characters in length. That can be
1:08
letters or numbers. And that's really the only thing that I recommend changing here. Now you
1:14
could change the AP band. We do have options between 2.4 and 5 gigahertz and just to kind of
1:21
explain this section because I find that some people might want to use this. The 2.4 is utilized
1:28
basically by any device that has any kind of wi-fi connectivity while the 5 gigahertz will be used by
1:34
newer devices. Now by now newer devices means like five year old or more but in any case
1:44
if you don't know if your phone supports 5 gigahertz or not the way you can quickly find
1:51
out without really being tech savvy is in here selected to be 5 gigahertz. Just select that option
1:57
and when you save it in here and navigate on the other device to your wi-fi section
2:03
and then choose to connect to your network. So as an example I'm going to enable it right now
2:11
and then going into my wi-fi settings which is off let's turn it on you'll see that this network should show up
2:25
which it does show up in the list below you can see right here if you see your
2:30
hot spot that means that the device that you're trying to connect to supports 5 gigahertz wi-fi
2:35
but if it's enabled like it is right now here and your device does not see this at all that means
2:42
that said device does not support 5 gigahertz and all you need to do is go back in here into the
2:47
settings and change this back to 2.4 and this will basically make the hot spot appear in on that
2:54
phone's wi-fi list. So hopefully that explained this section or option a little bit. Now the reason
3:02
you might want to fiddle around with this is because 5 gigahertz wi-fi will be faster and more
3:07
stable of a connection so if the device supports it it's going to be better than 2.4. Well 2.4 is
3:14
just used by basically any device. Now once it's all set you don't actually have to come back to
3:22
the settings to turn it on and off all you need to do is find the toggle in here and then tap on it
3:27
to turn it off and tap on it to turn it on. Now one last tip that I'll give is when you're done
3:33
using your hotspot I'll recommend turning it off by tapping on it obviously because hotspot will
3:39
consume more of your phone's battery so if you're not using it there is really no reason for it to
3:43
be running in a background. And with that being said if you found this video helpful don't forget
