Welcome and follow me as a Google Pixel 7a and today I'll show you how you can enable
0:05
and also set up your portable hotspot. So to get started we're gonna pull down our notifications by swiping down
0:14
from the top of our screen. Swipe down once again to extend the list of toggles
0:18
and we're looking obviously for the hotspot toggle. Now chances are it's not added by default
0:26
so we will need to press right here on this pencil, swipe down, this will show you the toggles that
0:32
are turned off and one of them as you can see is hotspot. Once you see it, hold it, you will feel a
0:40
haptic feedback and also the text will change right over here to drag to remove
0:45
and we're going to drag it to the top, drop it, go back and now we have access to it on one of the pages. So from here once you have access to it you want to hold it
0:58
and this will quickly take you to the settings. Now the reason I recommend holding it is because
1:03
and here you'll find hotspot password and as you can see once I tap on it this password is
1:09
absolutely hideous like you have no way of like remembering it so it's hard to remember, hard to
1:17
type it. I recommend simply removing it altogether and setting up your own new password which will
1:24
need to have at least eight characters in length. Now that can be letters or numbers, it doesn't
1:29
really matter, at which point you can click on OK to confirm that to change. Now there is a couple
1:35
additional things like turn off hotspot automatically. I recommend keeping that on
1:38
so when you forget about your hotspot it won't be running in the background indefinitely and consuming
1:44
more of your battery life so it's a good option. Now we have also extend compatibility. I recommend
1:50
keeping that on. It basically makes it so the hotspot I presume runs on 2.4 gigahertz and
1:56
5 gigahertz wi-fi so you can utilize this for both of the device meaning if you have a newer device
2:02
it can use the 5 gigahertz which will be better but older devices that do not support 5 gigahertz
2:08
wi-fi will just simply stick with the 2.4 which would still be running which is really nice
2:15
Now last thing that you can change is the hotspot name. By default it's going to be just a pixel
2:21
name and then I believe the model so it's 2472 I presume. You can shorten this, do whatever you
2:29
want with it. When it comes on to security I don't recommend doing anything with that
2:35
If you choose to change it you have a couple options but the one that is set by default for
2:40
hotspot is pretty good. None also wouldn't be advisable because then anyone can connect to
2:45
your hotspot once you enable it which obviously might not be the most optimal option. So anyway
2:53
once we went through the settings you can close this and then whenever you want to actually use
2:58
your hotspot simply find the toggle once again tap on it turn it on and there you go it is now
3:04
enabled and you can connect to it with any kind of device. And once you're done with it you can
3:11
also turn it off yourself by tapping on the toggle once again and obviously if you forget about it
3:16
the phone will turn it off for you which is a pretty nice option as well. So with this being
3:21
said, if you found this very helpful don't forget to hit like, subscribe and thanks for watching
