Infraimsy Microsoft Surface Go, and today I will show you how to hard reset the device through settings
0:15
So the fact the reset of Windows does take a while. So if you're planning to do this, I do urge you to, number one, have a charger ready, plug it in probably for this process
0:25
it does take about an hour. It's not the fastest device, so it does take a while here
0:33
But anyway, to get started, you'll want to navigate into the settings
0:39
For some reason, space is working, so... There we go. So let's navigate into the settings right here, which is right here
0:52
And from here we can type in settings, or not settings, but reset
1:00
As you can see, it brings it up as I suggested, reset this PC, so right over here
1:05
And then simply tap on reset now. Now throughout this process once I will begin this the video will be sped up so just keep that in mind That why it going to go a little bit faster on the video but this does take quite a while
1:27
So anyway, let's start off by selecting the troubleshoot. From here, we're going to go into reset this PC
1:35
And we have two options. So we have Keep My Files and remove everything. So Keep My Files, we'll keep things like your music, documents and so on
1:42
So that's the option that you want. that there it is, while remove everything just simply removes everything, which is what I'm going to go with
1:51
Now, additionally, the difference between those two is keep, the one with keeping files will, I believe, take a little bit less time
2:00
So removing everything does basically reinstall the entire windows, increasing the time of the process, well, quite substantially
2:09
I also believe it will change the language soon in here. It would be nice if the camera wouldn't be overblown
2:22
I apologize for the camera. As you can see it's way too bright
2:32
But there we go. So right here we have reset this PC now Now luckily it stayed in the default language which is English So from here you have two different options We can download and reinstall windows from the cloud or from a local storage
2:51
Now, luckily, for major windows devices, for instance, like the surface or any kind of device that you buy from a store or something like that
3:00
if it comes with this kind of mode, as you can see right here, it also comes with windows baked into it
3:05
It's basically got a separate partition where Windows is kept, so you can select the local reinstall
3:12
You don't need anything, you don't need to download anything or insert any USB
3:16
It's already in the memory of the device itself. So from here, once you select one of those options, and again gives us two more options to choose from
3:26
so just remove my files or fully clear the drive. So again, if you go with just remove my files, this will be able to
3:35
get rid of your documents, pictures and so on, any kind of installed application
3:41
but what it won't do is touch any of the actual core Windows files
3:46
So those will be kept, meaning that the process will be shorter
3:51
But if you go with the full clean, full clearly like reinstall windows
3:56
which is the second option yeah prepare for an hour of your time for this which is what I going to go with So there we go now it will tell you that it getting ready then it gonna begin and go make yourself a
4:12
cup of coffee whatever and just prepare for this to take a while lastly what we
4:19
need to do is stop on the reset right here so it's selected and there we go so this
4:29
will be going on for a while i'm just going to let it run and i'll come back once it's finished
4:59
And as you can see, the process is now finished and you can set up your device however you like
5:10
