I'm filming this in HTC Desire 20 Plus and today I'll show you how to hard reset a device

through recovery mode. Now this process will also remove a screen lock if you have one that you might not know

I'm going to quickly lock the device and you can see I do have a pattern set and I'm going

to progress from here as though I don't actually know it. So let's start off by powering off the device

And once it turns off you want to hold power key and volume down. Both of the keys at the same time

So as you've seen, you should see the HTC logo for the first time

Keep holding the power key. And once it disappears after that you want to let go of the power but keep holding volume down

And this will then boot you into this mode right here. So to navigate through this mode you will need to use volume keys

So up and down. And you want to select, well it's selected right now at least for me, so recovery mode

And then confirm it with power key. Give it a second. And it should take us to recovery mode

And there we go. So now to navigate through this mode again you will need to use volume keys

And you want to select wipe data factory reset and then confirm it with power key

Scroll down to factory data reset. And you should see data wipe complete

Outwards point reboot system now should be selected by default. So press power key once more

And this will initiate a reboot while also continuing the process in the background. So your device might be turning on for a little bit longer than you used to

Just give it a little bit of time and from there it should be presented after that on
