Welcome, I'm filming the Huawei Matebook D15 and today I'll show you how to hard reset
0:13
the device, factory reset it through the recovery mode. So if you want to format your computer, get rid of basically everything, if for some reason
0:23
I don't know, maybe you have a virus and you want to format it, or as an example, you want
0:27
to sell it and you would like to get rid of everything that is on it and basically have
0:31
a freshly installed Windows and this will basically show you how to do it
0:35
So anyway, we're going to start off by actually turning off our device. So select start and then obviously shut down
0:46
And once it turns off, you want to then press the power key. And once you press it, you want to then start pressing F10, which is right here
0:55
So you want to start pressing this. I'm going to now click on it and I'm now pressing F10 as you can see
1:10
And this will enter the smart reset, basically a recovery mode. And in here, you'll want to select the middle option, recovery
1:20
And then you have the option to actually backup your data if that is something that you want to do
1:25
If you already have done it before manually, I don't know, some kind of other hard drive
1:29
or something like that, or maybe you just don't want to keep anything, then simply select
1:34
skip here. And from here we have factory or restore factory settings
1:42
So you want to select start, skip is to cancel. So select start and it's going to start restoring
1:51
And it gives us a message that this will usually takes one to two minutes
1:56
I guess we'll see if that is correct. Now to be completely fair, I would probably prepare half an hour for this, not one to
2:08
two minutes. Usually I'm assuming this is actually like reinstalling Windows. It will take about a half an hour on this computer
2:18
If it's not, if it's just removing your personal data and anything that you have put on it
2:22
while not really removing the system files, then it might be quicker
2:29
But I guess we'll see. Anyway, if it's a long one, prepare half an hour
2:35
If it's not, then a little bit less. I'll be back once the entire process has been finished
2:48
And as you can see, factory reset has now finished and everything from the computer
3:01
should be gone. So right here you can set up the computer however you like or just keep it at this state
3:07
if you want to sell it. And obviously, as you probably realized, this took way more than the two minutes that it
3:14
was showing us at the beginning. Anyway, if you found this video helpful, don't forget to hit like, subscribe, and thanks
