Welcome, I'm from the user Huawei MatePad 10.4 and today I'll show you how to
0:10
hard reset the device through recovery mode. Now this process will also remove a
0:14
screen lock if you have one that you for instance don't know. So if I lock the
0:18
device you will be able to see that I do have a pattern set and I'm gonna progress from the lock screen as though I don't know the combination to it. Now
0:26
additionally for this process we will need a cable, obviously the one that we
0:30
use for charging. Plug it into your computer and then connect it to the
0:34
device itself. It will automatically start charging, that's fine. So from here
0:39
simply hold the power key. As you can see I am on a lock screen without providing
0:44
any combination right here. So hold power key, select power off and once the device
0:53
turns off you want to hold power key and volume up together, both of them at
0:57
the same time. So I'm gonna do that right now, I just need to do the weird reach
1:01
around and I'm gonna cover, put my hand over right here just so the camera
1:08
doesn't actually focus on this little bar that is above the tablet as a
1:12
reflection. So I'm just gonna keep my hand right here, it's not doing anything extra, just the power key and volume up is the thing that is doing all the work
1:21
So anyway and now that the device is on or off, I mean hold the power key, volume up
1:33
And there we go. So we are now in the recovery mode. Once you see this mode you
1:38
can let go of the keys and from here using the volume keys you want to scroll
1:41
through the menu right here in order to select clear data. So again I'm gonna do
1:45
another weird reach around. So volume down to go down and once you select a
1:52
clear data option press power key to confirm it. Now it looks like there's something really wrong with this recovery mode
2:13
It's been the second time I'm trying to do it. So anyway hopefully I can get it here
2:17
All you need to do is select factory reset. There we go, it's working now fine
2:23
So it looks like we can also touch the options instead of like just using
2:28
volume keys to navigate. So in here before we can actually factory reset it
2:32
we need to type in yes. So Y-E-S and factory reset and this will begin the
2:38
process. So give it a moment, it will start removing all the data. It gets to I
2:42
believe like 30% or something like that before it reboots. Okay so here we need to just go back and restart the device and this will continue the process in the
2:58
background. Now this will take the device a little bit longer to turn back on than
3:02
you probably used to but just give it some time it's all fine. Once the process
3:06
has been completed you will be presented with the Android setup screen. So I'll be
3:11
back once that is visible. And as you can see now the process finished and you can set up your device
3:42
however you like. So if you found this very helpful don't forget to hit like
3:45
subscribe and thanks for watching
