How to Change Backlight Timeout in GARMIN Forerunner 45 HR– Adjust System Settings

Hello, in front of me I have Garmin Forerunner 45HR and I'm gonna show you how to customize

the backlight settings on this device. Let's start by pressing and holding the up button to open the menu

Once the menu opens, use this down button like this to scroll down, find the option

called the system, then press the start button to enter. Here select the option called the backlight and press the start button

And right here we have two options, during activity and not during activity

The first option, basically the settings inside will apply only when you are performing an

activity and your watch is tracking it, like you select some sport mode, for example running

and you are doing something, right? The second option is not during activity, so whenever you're not doing any activity

tracking and stuff like that, then these settings will apply. So let's select for example not during activity and press the start button

The options are the same for both, basically, so we have keys, alerts, gesture, timeout

and in during activity it's the same. As you can see, let's select not during activity, for example, and here we have the options

like keys, this option, whenever you press the key, the backlight turns on

So as you can see, now it turned off and if I press the down button, it will turn on

And if you disable this option, it won't happen, the backlight won't turn on when you press

the buttons. Next option is alerts and if you basically get any alert on your watch, the backlight

will turn itself on. And you can disable this option, of course, by pressing start button and then you won't

get the backlight when you get alert on your watch. Next option is gesture

Basically whenever you have your watch on your wrist and you flick your wrist, the backlight

This option basically, here you can set after how long of the time the backlight will turn

itself off and you can press restart to enter. And here we have a couple of durations like 8 seconds, 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute
