through recovery mode. Now I will mention right off the bat, usually these processes will allow you to remove a

screen lock if you have one that you don't know the pattern to it or PIN, password, whatever

it is set to, but in the case of this phone it is not the case

And you will see that. So as you can see I do have a pattern and I will still need to confirm it once I get

into the recovery mode in order to reset the device. But getting started with the process, let's hold power key

Hold power key and from here, there we go, it pops up with the power off option

Just slide it down and once the device shuts off you want to hold power key and volume

down, both of them at the same time. You should see the Apple logo on the screen, at which point you can let go

From here, you're basically almost in the recovery mode, simply tap on the language

that you wish to use, which for me is going to be English

And there we go, as you can see we're now in the colorless recovery

So from here tap on wipe data and there is the thing that I was talking about, so in

order to wipe data we do need to confirm screen lock. So I'm going to draw it and from here let's select format data

Make sure you tap on the second one if you wish to remove everything. As you can see, wipe data doesn't actually wipe data, which makes it completely a redundant

option here. And below the wipe data you can see that it tells you it retains contacts, messages and

photos, making it completely and utterly useless. So from here let's go to actual format data, which will do what it's supposed to

It gives you a message that all user data will be reset

Yep, that's the point of it, so let's tap on format. It will begin the process and here it's going to be a fairly quick one, it's basically finished

Any moment now. And there we go. Wipe successful, OK. And as you can see, once you confirm it, it will automatically start rebooting the device

Now, this will take a little bit longer to turn on the device, that is because the process

is still being continued in the background, even though you're not seeing anything

But once it's finished, we will be then greeted with the Android setup screen
