Welcome, in front of me I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and today I will go over unboxing along
0:12
with an overview of the device itself. So starting off, this is the box that it comes in, typical unboxing I would assume
0:21
So let's actually quickly pop it open. There we go
0:34
Anything else? It looks like that's it. There we go, nothing on top of the box here
0:43
I'm going to set it to the side. Then we get the tablet itself with this fabric like casing on it
0:54
So okay, let's pop it open
1:11
So I'm going to automatically turn it on so I can quickly get to the setup
1:16
And for now I'm going to set it somewhere to the side, assuming I have space for it
1:22
There we go. Then apart from that, we get the pen. Super light honestly, like it's missing a battery or something
1:35
Maybe it is, we'll see that in a second. Then we get some paperwork looks like
1:39
Let's see what's inside. Obviously we have the eject tool right here
1:46
Just a typical paperwork, so nothing apart from that inside. Okay, whatever, just going to put that back in there soon
1:59
Then we get a charger. So let's see, this is a super disappointing puny 10 watt charger
2:16
I'm not sure what the hell that is honestly. Just kind of annoying
2:20
Then we get a cable. So it's type A to type C obviously, just for the charger
2:29
So the charger is kind of crap and that's about it. So let's just put that back in here
2:39
Drop that back in here so I don't have to look at this disgustingly dirt cheap charger
2:45
that they decided to include here and set that to the side
2:50
I did have somewhere a tablet stand, there we go, found it
2:55
So let's prop that up and let's get the tablet itself in here
3:06
This is the top of it. Now this thing is a little bit oversized, oh no, the pen fell somewhere, let me quickly
3:17
grab it. I don't know if I found it. Okay so it looks like it doesn't need any kind of battery, which is nice, but like I
3:29
said it's super light, it feels basically like a prop almost. So let's quickly go through the setup so I can actually show you how this looks like
3:44
I have ready up everything. Okay. Skip. Don't copy. Just go to accept. Skip
3:52
Skip anyway. I'm just trying to skip through the setup. Okay. So I'm going to skip through the setup
3:56
I'm going to skip through the setup. I'm going to skip through the setup. I'm going to skip through the setup. I'm going to skip through the setup
4:00
I'm going to skip through the setup. I'm going to skip through the setup. I'm going to skip through the setup. I'm going to skip through the setup
4:04
I'm going to skip through the setup. I'm going to skip through the setup. I'm going to skip through the setup. I'm going to skip through the setup
4:08
I'm going to skip through the setup. I'm going to skip through the setup. I'm going to skip through the setup. I'm going to skip through the setup
4:12
I'm going to skip through the setup. I'm going to skip through the setup. I'm going to skip through the setup. I'm going to skip through the setup
4:16
I'm going to skip through the setup. I'm going to skip through the setup. I'm going to skip through the setup. I'm going to skip through the setup
4:20
I'm going to skip through the setup. I'm going to skip through the setup. I'm going to skip through the setup. I'm going to skip through the setup
4:24
I'm going to skip through the setup. though it actually looks respectable, I would say
4:32
It almost looks like an AMOLED display, I would say. Or Super AMOLED
4:36
Basically the same thing. It has a 83.6% screen to body ratio
4:43
Honestly, it looks like it should be smaller. These bezels are quite big, honestly, for what I'm used to, at least on the phones and
4:51
other devices. Also, fairly small pixels per inch, so it comes at 274
4:59
If you're into the subject of it, majority of the devices nowadays, specifically phones
5:07
come with a full HD resolution, which puts them at around 400 pixels per inch
5:13
So this is kind of short from that. One apart from the other display is HDR10+, which again makes this feel like there's something
5:24
wrong with the IPS. It seems like the information is wrong. HDR10+, is primarily, for the most part, for the AMOLED or Super AMOLED display, so there
5:38
might be something about it. And also, it's a 120Hz refresh rate display, so this will look super smooth now
5:48
By default, it looks like it's enabled, but it kind of looks weird
5:53
Let's quickly check it though. Motion smoothness adopted. So yeah, it is enabled, but it kind of seems weird
6:03
So that's the display. Like I said, it looks almost like an AMOLED display, but apparently it's not, based on
6:10
the information that I could gather. So I would say that's a benefit
6:18
Now, apart from that, we can go to the cameras. So at the front, we have just a single camera, as you can see right over here
6:25
And that is an 8MP wide sensor that shoots at 1080p at 30 frames, so nothing really special here
6:34
I'm gonna quickly open it up and flip it over so you can see the quality that we're dealing here with
6:40
It looks okay. So we can see that it's grainy, it loses a little bit of detail
6:54
This might not be the best place to capture anything. And honestly, let's face it, the 8MP sensor on the front is primarily for conference calls
7:04
and not really for taking pictures. So yeah. Let's flip it over
7:11
And at the back, we have a 13MP and 5MP sensor. Now, kind of showcasing those would be really difficult, so I'm still gonna attempt it
7:21
Now I have this little planty right here, just for that purpose. Let's move the trail to the side and just kind of try to capture a photo with this
7:29
Now, obviously, again, this is not necessarily for going outside and taking photos, but I'm
7:34
just trying to give you a good representation of how it might look like if you try to
7:41
And also, probably saying a good representation is an overstatement
7:51
This is a studio with poor lighting conditions, so keep that in mind that the photos that
7:55
you capture might come out better than this. Now, let's see. Honestly, I don't really feel like messing around much here
8:04
Now, I'm also gonna try to record and see. Okay. So, just a quick recording so you can see how that looks like
8:25
So that is basically how it came out. Honestly, it looks okay
8:30
Let me quickly make the brightness... Okay, it's maxed out almost. Yep
8:37
So, let's move that out of the way and set the tablet back in the front
8:48
So, let's go to the gallery and see the rest of the photos
8:57
So there is this one and I'm not sure how to say it
9:06
It's way too saturated. That is one thing that I'll mention. This is just a little bit too much
9:16
So, let's see the other one. Now, it's lacking in quality, but like I said, this could be because of the lighting environment
9:28
and just overall kind of crap conditions for actually taking photos, so keep that in mind
9:34
But then on the other hand side, this is not necessarily the best sensor on here
9:39
It's a 13 megapixel wide and it also has a 5 megapixel ultra wide, so it supposedly
9:46
shoots at 4K 30 frames, but it's not a too high of a pixel count here, so I wouldn't
9:53
expect much from it, honestly. Let's face it, these sensors aren't necessarily designed for capturing photos, for instance
10:01
like the phones are. Okay, now apart from that, the device itself, as you can see, runs on Android 10, so that
10:09
is kind of like the standard. I assume it's going to get fairly quick update to Android 11 once that drops for majority
10:16
of the other devices, but at the moment it is only Android 10. And if I could actually quickly find that, here we go, Android 10
10:27
So yeah. Now moving on to the specs of the device itself, because that's probably what majority of the
10:37
people care about primarily. It comes with the Snapdragon 865+, so the top chip right now on the market
10:45
You have a couple of variants of this device itself. So we have the 128 gigabyte, 256 and 512 gigabyte versions
10:55
And also, you have different versions of RAM. So there is a 6 gigabyte RAM and 8 gigabyte RAM version
11:04
And all that also has a UFS 3.0 storage, so you will be getting a really quick transfer
11:11
speeds and reads and writes on these drives. So that is also a super good
11:18
And let's pop out the tray quickly. And you can see that we have some kind of..
11:29
Is that an SD card? Let me quickly check it, because I genuinely have no idea if that's supposed to fit an
11:36
SD card or not. It looks really wonky. But yeah, that's an SD card slot
11:41
So you can slot an SD card on one side and actually a SIM card on the other
11:50
Just quickly pop it in here and see. There we go. So SD card right here
12:00
So you can see, you can even expand the storage further, past the 512 gigabyte
12:05
So you can virtually get probably over a terabyte of storage on here
12:11
Now the device has a fairly hefty battery right here. So it's an 8000 milliamp hour battery
12:20
It does support apparently a 45 watt charging, but like you've seen in the box, you get a
12:26
puny 10 watt charger. So this is just an utter garbage of a charger and if it supports a 45 watt charging, you
12:34
will need to get another one. Now I'm not sure why it's done like this. If the device supports faster charging for the price that it comes in, which I actually
12:42
haven't checked it. I will need to do that quickly. But I assume it's probably going to reach around $1000, kind of like majority of devices
12:51
with this chipset. The fact that they didn't include a better charger is just beyond me
12:57
I'm not sure what Samsung is doing, because at the moment they're the only company that
13:02
decides to either give you for the phones a 25 watt charger or at least in this case
13:08
they even give you a crappier one, a 10 watt charger. With that charger you can probably be charging this phone for most of the night and part
13:15
of the day as well, considering it has an 8000 milliamp hour battery
13:19
So this is an absolute unit here. So yeah. Now another thing that I can mention, the device has a side mounted fingerprint so you're
13:35
not getting under display, which I believe in the previous, the Tab S6, we had under
13:40
display fingerprint. I'm not exactly sure why it's not here. And also it has a DeX support
13:47
If you're not sure what that is, it's basically the semi computer like feel
13:52
If you have a monitor with a type C cable support, so you can basically take it, plug
13:57
in a type C to your monitor and to the device itself, or if you have some kind of conversion
14:03
so HDMI to type C, stuff like that, you can basically connect it and the Samsung device
14:10
will recognize the fact that it has a display plugged in and it will launch DeX
14:16
And DeX is kind of like the equivalent of a computer feel to it
14:22
So it basically tries to imitate computer using the Android apps. And that's basically how I can describe it
14:32
Now most of the Samsung devices have it, along with the phones obviously
14:39
Also some other manufacturers, for instance Huawei has it, but it's just kind of a feature
14:43
that is dropped in here and I assume not very many people are using it
14:49
So not sure if that benefits you. Now also apparently, let's see
15:04
So looks like that's about it. We get the fingerprint sensor right here
15:11
I'm trying to show it. The volume rockers, then on the bottom of the device, if I can actually somehow show
15:19
it, we're getting the type C charging port and just two speakers
15:26
At the bottom, or when it's in landscape mode, it looks like we have some kind of support
15:32
for either keyboard, I assume this is for keyboard or some kind of different accessory
15:37
As you can see we have some connections right here and overall on the sides as well
15:44
And then at the top we just have another speaker grill I assume
15:48
So it looks like it has speakers everywhere. I mean on the top and bottom
15:53
And then a simple microphone right over here. And then if we flip it back, flip it like so, you can see, and this is the back, sound
16:03
by AKG. So the device apparently was tuned by AKG for the sound
16:12
I'm going to play some no copyright songs in a second so we can hear how that sounds
16:17
But as you can see the back of it is fairly bland. It does have this point for the pen itself that actually holds fairly strong
16:30
Now you won't be able to lift your device with this but you most certainly will not
16:34
be able to lose it. So you can see it's not really moving from here once you place it
16:40
It's nice. And it's probably also part of the fact that the pen itself is almost weightless
16:47
It's like a paperweight. So yeah, it feels like a toy almost honestly
16:54
Now let's flip it over. Previously, I don't know if you ever used the previous S6, it did have a little bit
17:06
of a problem with the pen. So any kind of super small movements would not really render it
17:20
Now right here it actually looks way better in terms of how it works
17:25
Not sure if you can see that. But before if you make really small movements, it would kind of make the squiggly line for
17:32
instance but it was all the same. And if you were to expand it a little bit further, it would not recognize it
17:38
It started recognizing after a specific interval. So if for instance you move like 3mm apart, then it will recognize it and it was a weird
17:49
jump from it. And here it looks like this is working really good as you can see after zooming in
18:00
So it does recognize it way better now. So that is definitely an improvement over the old version
18:15
The pen is more accurate and works way better. Now it does have a button
18:20
Not really sure what I can use it for honestly. And obviously we have the entire interface and all the support for the pen itself
18:30
Kind of like the Note devices do. So yeah. Now if I can grab it
18:39
Oh, there we go. Also gives us a notification that it's charging
18:44
So let's quickly connect to WiFi. I'm gonna use the pen so I don't smudge up the display. So..
18:57
There we go. Now... Once it actually loads I'm just gonna launch up some..
19:25
Let's see. Now I'm launching no copyright obviously for no copyright. Let's launch something
19:33
I don't really care what, just to try to... So you can hear how it sounds
19:38
I'm gonna mute it at the beginning because I don't know how loud it's gonna get
19:49
Hmm... Let's skip through it
20:01
Now it would be really nice if the network would be working way better
20:05
But I guess I have to deal with it for now. Please load
20:17
And quickly connect to a different one. Let's see
20:40
Okay so... This is half volume. Now I would probably should be able to max it out but it might get distorted
20:50
That's one. And number two, someone is recording next to me so I don't wanna mess up their stuff right there
20:57
But from just hearing this at least a little bit below half volume..
21:04
It looks like... Let's see. The louder it actually gets at least to like half volume it sounds good
21:11
Honestly better than I would expect. And there is a little bit depth to this sound
21:17
Now don't expect too much from built-in speakers right here. That's not really the point
21:22
I could totally listen to this for instance by placing it somewhere in a bathroom for instance
21:28
and having some music under the shower. This would work sufficiently enough for me
21:34
It's way better than for instance what my phone can do. So this is a really nice and fairly rich sounding honestly device in terms of speakers
21:44
Now that was probably the last thing that I was going to touch on
21:49
And apart from that you've already seen build quality. And the device has this kind of more of a modern minimalistic look
21:59
with fairly sharp angles everywhere. So we can see that it is not rounded
22:08
It's just literally a balac almost. And it does feel at some points a little bit sharp
22:16
You can see the edges right here from the back to the side
22:20
That actually feels like it might dig into your hand if you hold it for a while
22:26
So it looks nice but not sure in terms of usability if that will be comfortable to use
22:34
But I guess time will tell. Let's also place the pen. So as you will see the pen kind of slaps on here
22:42
This greyish area is not in any way embedded into the device
22:47
So the pen just sits flat on here as you can see
22:51
And it will prop up the tablet a little bit if you set it up
22:55
Now if that's a good thing or bad thing I guess it just depends from the use. It does prop it up a bit
23:01
If you like it then I guess that's good. If you don't I guess you can then take off the pen and simply not place it on the back
23:09
when you're trying to play the tablet. Now it also does protect the camera because the camera also does protrude a tiny bit
23:16
So you won't have this wobble otherwise. If I take it off you will normally have a little bit of a wobble
23:23
You can probably see it. Now it's not too much of it because the tablet is fairly big so the wobble is kind of insignificant
23:30
But by placing the pen it does prop it up and there is not really much wobble
23:35
unless you press it hard to basically tip over the device. Otherwise when you would be typing on it or anything it's going to keep it firm
23:48
And I guess that would conclude the overview of the device. Honestly I'm fairly pleased with this device
23:57
It looks really nice, modern. The design is really nice and clean
24:04
The Android obviously just a typical Android 10 with the One UI
24:10
I think it's 2.0 so basically whatever Samsung always puts in. Nothing really out of the ordinary here
24:21
Now you're missing kind of things like wireless charging. You're missing a better charger for it
24:28
What else is there to say? You don't have any kind of headphone jack
24:33
That's something that you will be looking for. You do have a nice display
24:40
High refresh rate which is a real nice add-on to this. Cameras are mediocre like I said before
24:49
The pen is improved so it works better now than it did before
24:54
And I think this would conclude the things that I basically kind of like jumped out
25:02
Obviously at me straight from the straight up. So pen is improved, display is really nice
25:11
And obviously the problem with the charger that I constantly have with Samsung
25:16
If they're listening I would really like to know why it's a 10W charger
25:21
or phones come with a 25W charger. It just seems kind of funny at 2020 at the end of it to basically keep including such a charger
25:32
And lastly the price of this device comes at 700 euros. So around basically the same thing in dollars maybe a little bit more
25:45
So it's actually cheaper than I would have expected. I would have expected probably to be around 1000
25:53
So it is I think cheaper actually than the iPad Pro. The fact that it comes with a pen is also an additional real thumbs up
26:04
Considering things like iPad Pro do not. And at this moment with this one probably being a little bit smaller
26:10
Because they do have a Tab S7+. This is the 11 inch so it's just a normal one
26:16
It is probably going to be a little bit smaller than the iPad Pro
26:21
But at $700 it comes with a pen. They improved the problem that iPad Pro had over this one or the S6
26:31
With the pen just not really recognizing the inputs correctly at really small movements
26:37
This is fixed now, works flawlessly. I'll also probably do some kind of drawings on it later on and record that as well
26:47
And show you some good apps that I consider really nice to use for drawing on it
26:52
And you can quickly see how it looks like just to draw on it overall
26:57
Because primarily this device is probably made for creators that like to draw
27:02
That's why there is a pen. And lastly to overview this and finish it up
27:10
For $700 I really consider this to be a really good device
27:14
It comes with top specs and the display is amazing. The pen is fixed
27:19
And I'm also not a fan of iPads. So the fact that this is basically either I think the same price or probably cheaper than iPad
27:27
And comes with a pen and it's just so good. So I really like this device obviously
27:35
And if you're wondering if this is the device for you. If I am recommending it
27:40
I would say yeah, it runs really well. Obviously has top specs
27:45
And does everything that you would want this tablet to do. And the fact that it also comes with 120 Hz is amazing for just overall other uses
27:54
Like in for instance watching stuff or just gaming on it. Which this device can do without any problem
28:00
So it's a definite yes from me. And if you found this video helpful
