Welcome, I'm Filomena, a Samsung Galaxy S22, and today I'll show you how you can enable
0:14
your power saving mode. So to get started, all you need to do is pull down your notifications, extend them, and
0:20
you will see your toggles with power saving mode somewhere in the corner
0:24
This is the default orientation, so hopefully for you it's in the same place
0:28
So from here, simply tap on a toggle, and there we go, your power saving mode is now enabled
0:33
Now, I'll also add that you can do a couple of additional things to extend your battery
0:37
life further by manually changing the settings. So those settings would be turning off a couple of those toggles that we have right here
0:47
Now right now I have the majority of them turned off, so for me that won't really apply
0:52
but by default, if you haven't changed anything, things like Bluetooth, location, Wi-Fi, mobile
0:59
data, and NFC will be turned on, so you can turn off all of those
1:04
So as you can see, I do have location on, so I'm going to turn that off
1:08
Close, because counterintuitive options. What else is here? Looks like everything, but I'm going to go into edit buttons
1:22
Just to make sure that nothing is turned on here as well
1:26
And it looks like it isn't. So that's a couple of toggles that I can turn off, and additionally, if you have your phone
1:34
set to be much brighter, for instance like so, you might want to lower down the brightness
1:40
this will give you the best results. So lowering it halfway will yield you several additional hours of battery life, just by
1:47
doing this simple little edit. So anyway, this is the things that you can also change on top of the power saving mode
1:55
Now once you're done with the power saving mode, you can turn it off by tapping on it
1:59
but the changes that we have made to the toggles right here, and the brightness, you will need
2:03
to revert them yourself, because those were just outside of the power saving mode
2:09
And last thing, when you hold the toggle, it does take you to the settings of power
2:13
saving mode, with a couple options right here. So as you can see, this is the default settings
2:19
So when you turn on your power saving mode, it does things like turn off your always-on
2:23
display, limits the CPU speed to 70%, and decreases brightness by 10%, along with turning
2:29
off your 5 GHz, not WiFi, but just mobile data. You do also have this option, limit apps and home screen
2:39
I don't really recommend turning that on, this is like the extreme version of power
2:43
saving mode. So just to showcase this, I'm gonna show you how this looks like
2:48
So there we go. This one, once enabled, this is just prioritizing battery life, so it removes things like your
2:54
wallpaper, removes a bunch of applications right here, even your toggle panel right here
3:02
Actually no, this one isn't limited, so this one looks normal, but usually it is just removing
3:07
a bunch of toggles and keeping the most essential ones. So yeah, like I mentioned, this prioritizes battery life
3:13
And to close this, you would just tap right here and select turn off power saving mode
3:18
So there we go. One last thing that power saving mode does, which isn't really disclosed anywhere, turns
3:23
off 120 Hz and turns on the 60 Hz refresh rate instead
3:28
And number two, if you're using mobile data and WiFi, it turns them both off when the
3:33
device is in sleep mode, and this would be a sleep mode
3:37
And because of that, you won't be getting any kind of notifications from apps that require internet connections
3:41
Most apps would be things like Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and so on
3:45
So when you wake up your device again, it reconnects and then you get everything synced
3:50
up in bulk, so you just get spammed with notifications at once
3:55
But anyway, this will conclude just the power saving mode and a couple of additional options
4:01
that will closely correlate with it. And if you found this very helpful, don't forget to hit like, subscribe, and thanks
