Here I've got Xiaomi Mi A3 and let me show you how to change language on the following device

So at first you have to open list of all applications, then find and select the settings, scroll

down to the very bottom of the list and click on system. Now you have to select languages and input and go to the languages to select the one

that you would like to have. You have to click on add a language and now you can come along with the wide list of languages

So then select the language that you would like to have your device in

I will pick Italian and now swipe it up to the first place to make it a default language

And that's it. As you can see, now all the device is in Italian

If you'd like to go back to English or if you would like to change the language one more time to some other, to some different language, click on the system

This is the systems icon. Then click on the first icon with the word sign, which is for language and input

And now pick lingua, which is for language. Now we can simply swipe English up and if you'd like to permanently delete the second

language, click on more icon and select remove. Now mark Italiano and click on the bin icon

Click on OK to confirm. And that's it. As you can see, now we are back in English and this is the only language saved in your
