Welcome. Infanomi is a one plus eleven and today I'll show you a couple tweaks and tricks you can do on this device
0:12
So anyway, I just get straight into it. So starting off, we're going to open up settings where we'll find basically everything that I'm going to show you, or at least settings for it
0:20
So I'm going to start off with the status bar and the ad can be found under notifications and status bar
0:28
and this portion right here is at this point as far as I'm aware kind of unique to
0:34
one plus so here you can disable the toggles from showing up in your status bar so you can get
0:40
a nice clean look of your look of your status bar without actually needing to turn off some of
0:45
these toggles so as an example NFC is right now running but I don't need to have it shown in
0:50
the status bar obviously I know it's running I would usually turn it on myself but I don't want to
0:55
see the clutter of just icons all in my status bar. So this allows you to
1:03
basically hide whichever part you want of the status bar and you could turn off
1:07
basically everything along with even I believe the time battery, at least you
1:14
used to be able to turn off the time but I don't know if that is the case anymore. But let's see how much will disappear if I just toggle off everything
1:25
So I can not, I can select to not even show the battery if I wanted to
1:34
And notifications, I can select notifications to be also cleaner right here
1:39
By default, it is set to basically show each icon for each individual app that has a notification
1:44
but I can just, you know, accumulate it to show me a number of notifications that I have from different apps
1:50
So as you can see, it shows me two. And those are the two. Like I mentioned before, all these options are still an number
1:55
they just won't show in my status bar, which is something that I personally prefer
2:01
and it gives you a much cleaner look of your device without actually sacrificing anything
2:07
If you really want to know what is enabled, you can just navigate to your panel and just
2:12
get a quick glance at what's enabled and turn it off if you need to
2:18
Now moving on the next option, it's going to be the swipe down on home screen to get your
2:21
notification shade or control panel, however you want to call. So by default if you swipe down it gives you this shelf, I personally don't like it, I don't care for it
2:32
So if you also don't care for the shelf from Oneplus, you can change this to be the, like I mentioned, the notifications
2:39
And to do so, all we need to do is navigate into the settings, and then home screen and lock screen
2:44
And then swipe down on the home screen to... You also have a global search if you want to do that, but I prefer the notification drawer
2:54
And now if I swipe down, it gives me my notifications. Now, additionally, with swiping down and just kind of like easy access to things that are a little bit higher on your display
3:05
we have a one-handed mode, which is actually done a little bit nicer than other devices have it
3:12
and also it's a little bit easier to activate it when you need it. So, to enable it, we will navigate to our settings again
3:20
I'm going to scroll down to additional settings, and one-hand. hand-handed mode, enable it. Now this is for gestures. I don't actually know how to use it with
3:31
buttons because I tend to use gestures but I assume if you have your buttons enabled it
3:38
will show you button shortcut instead of the gesture. But for gestures it's just a quick
3:44
swipe down on your little bar right here and as you can see it just shifts everything down
3:49
right here and the phone is fully usable in this state Come on go home there we go Okay maybe not fully usable It does kind of actually shift the entire display
4:05
to the bottom side now that I checked it out a little bit more. So as you can see, it might have a little bit of unwanted effect
4:14
So I assume if I have my keyboard enabled, I just select agree
4:18
When I do this, the keyboard becomes basically goes off the screen
4:25
It's still open. What it does is just takes this entire thing that you can see
4:29
shifts this below. Obviously, whatever content is here just gets shifted below the visibility of the screen
4:36
which a little bit kind of not the greatest design, but then I guess you can just enable this
4:43
for a quick access to whatever is a little bit higher on your display
4:47
So you don't have to shift your entire way you're holding the device to access
4:51
whatever is here. So as an example, we can, for instance, pull down our notifications
4:56
then we can hopefully, there we go, lower it down like this
5:02
enable whatever you want, and there we go. Anyway, moving on to the next option
5:09
that's going to be, well, it's going to have to do with the home screen, right here
5:14
So let's hold our finger on the empty space on your home screen, and right here we have a bunch of different settings
5:18
So, number one, we have our widgets, which you can customize, replace, if you want to
5:23
by tapping on this plus button, I think. So I love whatever it wants
5:33
So there we go. We have shelf widgets. So that's basically what they are called
5:39
And we have things like photos, clock notes, whether and some other stuff
5:43
We can also tap widgets right here. And this will give me additional widgets
5:48
which weren't visible there. and it actually shows me for each one of those like clock calendar
5:55
what types of widgets we have access to because we have different styles and sizes of them as you can see
6:01
so you can pick whichever one floats your boat. Now going back we also have icons
6:08
This gives you a little bit more control than you would actually probably expect
6:12
So number one we have the icon style. Now we have also art plus icon
6:19
This just changes the way. way it's some of the icons look like this might change it quite quite a bit more if you use
6:26
some different icon packs but for the default one as you can see it makes a little difference
6:33
then have icon size can make it smaller if you want to and then you can also hide the names of
6:40
the icon if you don't want to show them to get a little bit of a cleaner look on your device
6:44
and then under custom you can also change the shapes of them as you can see
6:50
and we have a couple other ones here or I guess only one visible again sizes then
7:01
we have much wallpaper icons let's see what that does okay so it makes them kind of
7:06
monochromish now with this not every icon might be supported so you might see
7:12
some icons that still look just as they would normally look with the typical
7:16
colors and stuff and And select apply. And that's going... There we go
7:23
Like I imagine, it doesn't work with all of them. But for the most part, it does cover the cent array of the apps that we have access to
7:37
There we go. That's a little bit cleaner and nicer. Okay, so, okay, we can customize this to your liking
7:44
Now moving on to last portion it going to be under the settings and display Display and brightness more precisely And here we have a couple things Now these will be the more typical ones
8:00
So number one, have the light and dark mode. If you're planning to use the dark mode, can swap in between here
8:05
But what I also recommend checking out is the schedule mode. This will allow you to set it up so your phone turns on dark mode
8:12
and turns it off based on a schedule. And that can be through sunset to sunrise or
8:18
on a custom timer. Your choice, which of one you prefer. And with this enabled, you basically will have
8:24
light mode during the daytime, so when you go outside, you can actually see your display. And during nighttime
8:28
if you wake up and you want to check out your time on your phone, you're not getting flashbanked by your device anymore
8:34
And then going back here, we have a couple additional quick options right here, so
8:38
screen color mode. By default, it's too vivid. If you find the colors to be a little bit too overdone, you can change it to
8:45
something like natural, or we also have a pro mode right here, so we have cinematic which uses display p3 mode for more fateful color reproduction and then
8:55
brilliant which uses the white as the color gamut for bright color display so this brilliant and
9:04
vivid are very similar as you can see the difference is is there but it's not like super big
9:13
but if i change it to cinematic it does shift quite a bit
9:17
Now on camera you don't get to see that all that much
9:24
The white balance settings for the camera kind of prevented from like changing the image
9:30
that you're seeing from actually showing you the actual like changes that take place on
9:36
this device but you can obviously switch it on your end, see how it affects it, pick whichever
9:40
one you want. Now the under the promo the cinematic supposedly would be the most accurate
9:47
After all, they claim to have P3 color mode or whatever for basically more faithful color reproduction
9:56
So this mode supposedly strives to be accurate compared to Vivid, which has a little bit more overdone colors that other people might just find pleasing to look at
10:10
And going back, we also have additional AI or whatever. based image enhancement. So we have the image sharpener, video color enhancer, and bright
10:23
HDR video mode. So going into each one of them, it just gives you a quick video of the difference
10:30
with like side by side. So here we have this being turned off and here it's on. Now on the camera
10:37
unless you're viewing this on a bigger display, you probably don't see much of a difference
10:41
But if you look closely on your end on the phone, you'll see that the B that is visible sometimes
10:46
like right here, it's a little bit pixelated close up. Honestly, from the distance that I'm looking at the display right now
10:54
I cannot tell a difference. But if you tend to see the difference, you can enable it
10:59
and hopefully this will give you a better effect or image quality
11:06
Now going back to the next one, now we have the video color enhancer
11:10
and this just changes a little bit how the image is being displayed
11:16
So as you can see, it's a little bit more saturated, a little brighter, so it's not as gloomy as this option right here
11:24
And this only affects video players, it won't affect your actual like just typical viewing of, I don't know, webpages and stuff like that
11:35
And going back, we have another one, a brighter, HDR video mode, and this just tries to improve HDR
11:42
so increase screen brightness when playing HDR video this is just a little bit of an improvement or supposedly an improvement I actually haven tested it out But if you don like the effects that it brings you can just turn it off
11:58
And lastly, when I shift over to a couple additional settings right here
12:02
which will be circumstantial, so you have a screen refresh rate by default set to high
12:07
You can select it to be standard. and the benefit of going with the standard
12:14
is better battery life the downside is a bit more choppy viewing of your content
12:21
as you can see we do have two images that display how the image will be affected
12:26
just when it's in motion I should mention though this is quite exaggerated
12:32
obviously if I switch it go back you can see it's it's looking a little bit worse
12:39
like you can see the text kind of in several places at the same time when I'm scrolling
12:44
and I'm scrolling quickly when, oops, let's go back, when I enable the high refresh rate mode
12:53
that just becomes more like a motion of blurriness which it's only to do with the camera
12:59
that I'm recording it on and obviously the viewing on YouTube. It is locked to 60 so anything
13:05
above that gets lost but you can still see the effects of high refresh rate with the text being a little bit smoother and more like a
13:14
blurry you know smear which that's like i said only to do with the 60 hertz but in person it
13:21
looks significantly better while 60 just gives you this chopier experience obviously like i said
13:27
it's up to preference if you whichever one you prefer but the downside of using 120 which is
13:34
which will look nicer is that it will also consume more battery the one plus does uh drop
13:39
down the refresh rate of the display when it's stationary like this so you will still
13:45
have a little bit of battery saving but probably not as much as you would have with just running
13:50
straight up 60 and moving on to the last option is the screen resolution we have a couple
13:58
resolutions right here so we have 1080p and 1440p now the higher data resolution will
14:05
be the crisper the image might look like but also the more battery you will be using and my opinion in this is that if you don't see a
14:16
difference in image quality between these two options which I personally don't see
14:21
what the difference whatsoever I would prefer to use the 1080p because it will
14:26
consume a less power but give me better battery life over the higher resolution
14:32
with sharper image so I just personal preference this display right here is
14:38
small enough to the point at 1080p and 1440p, I just barely can see the difference
14:44
We're looking probably at like a difference of pixels per inch from like 500 to 400
14:51
So this is a relatively small drop in like, you know, image quality
15:00
And on this display, you would really need to look closely to see it. Or maybe use this phone as a VR for some reason, even though it's kind of dead for phones
15:09
But yeah, other than that, if you're using just like a typical phone on a reasonable distance
15:15
you most likely will not tell the difference that you're running a 1080p or 1440p, but the battery
15:22
life that you'll get will probably be a little bit noticeable. So anyway, on this being said, this would conclude the tweaks and the tricks that I want to show you
15:32
And if you found this very helpful, don't forget to head like, subscribe, and thanks for watching
