Welcome, I'm filming this with a Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro and today I'll show you a couple tweaks
0:12
and tricks you can do on this device. So starting off, I'm going to begin with the dark mode, which can quickly find either in
0:19
the settings on the display or somewhere in the toggle section. So if I can quickly locate it, there we go, there it is
0:28
So we can quickly toggle it on or off from here. You can also hold the toggle, this will take you quickly to the settings where you'll have
0:34
access to a neat feature, which is the scheduled dark mode. So when enabled, it will use the turn on and off time to switch between light and dark
0:44
mode, providing you what I would call best of both worlds. So during the daytime, you'll have light mode and during nighttime, you'll have dark mode
0:51
which is what I would consider to be the best case. Because let's be honest, during night, light mode is a little bit too bright, but then
1:00
during the day, dark mode is a little bit too dark. It's way easier to see light mode in direct sunlight rather than dark mode
1:09
So this will provide the best alternatives here. Now moving on to the next one, it's going to be the color scheme, which again can be
1:15
found in the display section, which is where we are right now
1:19
So let's scroll down and look for it somewhere. There we go
1:24
Color scheme right over here. And as you can see, we have set it, oh, by default, it is set to auto, which I just color
1:31
based on the current lighting. Kind of a weird way, but then we have the two other ones, so we have saturated and standard
1:40
So these won't really change at all. They will be static and you can quickly see the difference between them also in the way
1:46
that one is a little bit more bluish. So when you have white background, you can see that switching between them makes a white
1:53
background look either blue or orangish. So that is kind of the difference between them
2:01
But also if you pay attention to the, for instance, pencils right here, you can clearly see the difference in colors when you're switching between them
2:08
And it looks like saturated and auto are basically the same. There's like almost no difference between them, which you can see by switching them frequently
2:16
But yeah, so you can choose right here, which one you want
2:22
And then also if you scroll down, you will have color temperature, so you can add specific
2:27
color to the display. So as an example, right now it's set to default
2:33
There's like no additional tint to it, but you have a couple here. So you have cool or warm and cool, and then custom, which simply allows you to, there
2:44
we go, move this around. So you can add a specific color that you want, make it look just the way you want
2:53
Now moving on to the next one, it's going to be the display refresh rate, which again
2:57
is under the display, right under the color scheme, right over here
3:02
And I believe the device comes by default with only 60 Hertz. So you do want to go in here and change it to 120
3:10
It does give you a neat animation on how it will affect the actual device or the animations
3:18
I would say, however you want to describe this. So you do have a 60 Hertz version of it
3:23
Now, the way the ball is moving right here is severely exaggerated
3:27
That's not going to be skipping that hard, but it gives you a clear visual cue on how
3:33
it differs. So as you can see, 120 just looks super smooth and 120, not so much
3:39
So the benefit of it, everything looks smoother and you can clearly see that in pages, for
3:44
instance, like let's go back to the settings. We can scroll up and down
3:49
Now I will warn you on the camera, it won't be as visible as it will be just on the device
3:54
That's because the camera is recording right now at 60 frames. So anything above that is lost
4:00
But what isn't lost is just the responsiveness, which can be seen a little bit here on the camera
4:08
But that is something that I would advise you to change and just see for yourself. The way the display starts to react is way better
4:15
It feels much nicer with 120 Hertz. So from here, we're going to move to another option, which is the gesture navigation
4:26
Basically it removes the buttons from the bottom of the screen and makes them into gestures
4:31
So they're not visible. You just kind of gesture on them and they will work
4:37
Now the quickest way to find this option is by going to the display and all the way down
4:42
to suggest it and we'll have the full screen display. And this will redirect you to where the actual setting is
4:51
So as you can see, we have the buttons and then we have this full screen gestures
4:55
Once you enable it, it will give you a guide on how to use it. So we can tap on learn and let's tap learn
5:01
So we have a swipe from bottom quickly. So this is the home gesture
5:07
Then we have swipe and hold, I believe. To go into recent and then swipe from sides to go back
5:15
There we go. And that is the guide. Now I'll also add additional tip for you
5:25
If you have never used the gesture navigation, when you're trying to use the back gesture
5:29
or not back gesture, but home gesture or recent, which is the swipe up, what you want
5:34
to do is try to not swipe on the screen up, but off of the screen
5:39
This will ensure that you always get it correctly. If you try to swipe from the screen up, it will just sometimes detect it as just you're
5:46
trying to swipe up on the screen, like move the content upwards
5:50
While when you're going from off of the screen onto it, it will basically work as a home
5:55
gesture almost all the time. So moving on to the last option, it's going to be the categories in your optray
6:05
That is something you are using your optray. So I already did change it
6:09
As you can see, we have only two different categories, which is games and personalized
6:14
post personalization. By default, there is way more. And you always have the all category
6:22
So here you will find all your applications. To change it, what we want to do is go into the home settings
6:29
So there we go. So as you just see me do, hold the screen, home screen, go to the settings, more, and
6:38
there we go. We can now find the, there we go, manage app categories
6:47
So you can add your custom ones. You can, since we can remove these ones, delete, add a new one
6:54
So number one, you would name the category to whatever you want it
6:58
So there we go, not games
7:08
And from here, you can simply just select every app that you want it to be in that category
7:14
I'm just going to add anything that isn't an app, or not an app, a game I meant to say
7:30
So that's good enough. So let's just accept that, tap on the check mark right at the top
7:36
And there we go. We have now not games. And if I go into the app tray again, go to the category beside it, you can see that there
7:44
we have all the apps that I have selected, and basically no games in here, which is kind
7:50
of what I wanted. But you can create your own categories right here, add specific apps to them, and it works
7:57
really nicely. So I highly recommend doing it. But that being said, if you've, oh, this would conclude all the tweaks that I wanted to show you
8:04
