Hello, I'm a Xiaomi, Redemy 8, and today I'll show you a couple tweaks and tricks that
0:09
can do on this device. So we're going to start off with the dark mode, which will just allow you to have a dark mode
0:15
as a theme for your device. And to start, we want to go into the settings, and then under the display, you should find dark mode
0:24
There's a toggle right here. So there it is. And once you toggle it on, you can immediately see the difference, which, well, that's kind of visible
0:32
So everything now is in dark mode, and if you go out of here, you can still see that notification panel is still dark, your search
0:39
Let's see, apps look, will go into dark mode as well. You can see that this is the dialer, messages
0:49
Well, it looks like messages didn't go dark. But certain apps will be in this mode, well, well
0:57
others as you can see will not. But yeah, that's the first one
1:02
So moving on, we're going to go into the split screen option, which will just simply allow you to use two different apps at the same time
1:09
So number one, what you want to do is go into the recent like so
1:14
And from here, right at the top you have split screen. So you can tap on that or drag an app over that
1:21
So, for instance, if I want to go make settings into split screen
1:26
I would just hold it like so. and then it gives me the option right here
1:32
So, you can tap on it. And then it opens up other recent apps in split screen now
1:37
As you just seen, I kind of did close it. So you can tap on the home button
1:42
and instead of actually closing the app as it would normally do, it actually puts it right at the top
1:47
and then you can open up any kind of other app either from your home screen or from the app drawer
1:53
if you have it enabled, but as you can see, there is no up drawer. So from here you can open up any kind of other app and use two different apps at the same time
2:04
And as you can see, YouTube will work just fine as long as it doesn't spam you with ads as it's doing right now
2:09
Just close this. I'm actually going to mute the sound, which it already is
2:14
And I can play a video as an example while doing other stuff on the top screen or the bottom
2:21
depending how you set it up. So you can multitask by watching something or listening to music
2:27
while doing other stuff on your phone. So let's close this. Now if you try to close it
2:33
you can see that the top app always goes back up there
2:37
So you can tap on back to split screen And if you want to close it you can just drag the resized bar all the way down or up and it will then resize it to be full screen and you can then close it
2:49
So moving on, we're going to go into the dual app, which is just, I'm not going to go really
2:54
to the setup of it because I would actually have to log in to small apps and have two different
2:59
accounts, but what it allows you to do is just to have two separate accounts of an app
3:05
So, for instance, you could be logged into two different people on Facebook
3:08
Facebook as an example. And to do it you would go into the settings and it's called dual app
3:17
So I think it was some on the bottom. There is dual apps right here
3:23
And what you want to do is just enable one up from here that is supported like Facebook
3:31
You will have an icon added to the home screen as you just seen so there it is
3:36
And now you can log in with two different Xx4. accounts and have them both running at the same time on a single device
3:43
So you don't actually have to log in out of one to use the other
3:48
So moving on, I'm going to go to the next thing, which is the animation speed
3:53
And just simply, it's a simple tweak to increase the animation speed. Now normally in the settings you won't really find anything, but you can find it through the
4:01
developer options. So let's go into About Phone. And from here we are looking for old build number
4:07
unless it's named differently. Which one is it based version
4:17
Model. Nope. There we go
4:27
So it's EMUI version. So top on the EMUI version seven times until you get that message as you just seen
4:32
You are now a developer. And from here you can go down or back and then
4:37
down and there's an additional settings I assume will be there is developer options and from here have access to all the developer options
4:50
so we're looking for animation speeds just scroll down and there it is so window
4:58
animation scale transition animation scale and animation duration scale so all three of them correspond to different animations for instance the first one
5:07
window animation scale will be representative of the window that pops up just so we can see different
5:13
options so this one so as an example I can set it to times 10 and you can now see the drastic
5:18
difference in the speed of it and as you see one is the default speed of it so I would advise it to set it to half speed which will still retain the speeds of all the animations
5:32
but drastically increase the speed of it. Well, for instance, you could also go with animations off
5:39
but without animations, as you might actually see, some things will look a little bit weird where everything just pops up or flickers
5:46
like you just seen right here. The phone isn't really used to not having animations
5:51
and it might look a little bit jarring. So I would strongly advise on having it on half speed
5:57
which is, well, best of the bold worlds. And the last thing that I'm going to go into is the second space option
6:06
Now, let's see, do I have any kind of lock screen here? It looks like I do not
6:11
So this will work. If you try to set it up, you will actually have to set up a lag screen
6:16
So I'll actually go through the setup of it. But let's go back to the main settings page right here
6:21
and look for a second space which or was it there's a second space
6:28
basically what this allows you to do is create an additional part of your device
6:34
that is basically separate from this one and let's just say that you have a bunch of photos
6:40
and other stuff personal ones on on the main space right here
6:44
and you create the second space the second space will be completely separate from this one
6:48
and for instance you can use it for work related stuff and you will be able to use two different fingerprints and each one of them, for
6:55
instance, will be unlocking the other space. So for instance, your right hand can unlock your main
7:01
while left hand can unlock your second space. And second space can be for work and no photos from
7:07
your main space will be on the second space. So it will be basically like having two different
7:14
phones but you're just able to use a single one and use two different fingerprints as an example
7:19
or patterns code whatever you said to log into each one. So let's just turn it on right here
7:45
you can see you have two different options. You can see you have two different options. password or a shortcut. Shortcut will be just created on your home screen, on your main space
7:54
and you can then tap on it to gain access to the second space. And then you have the
8:00
use password, which is more secure because, well, it will require you to use a password
8:04
So from here set password second space password Okay Now I and there we go because I don have a first basically space password
8:16
I'll need to set that first so let's just up on it. Choose lag screen
8:21
Yeah, the choice between pattern, pen or password. I'm going to go with pattern
8:25
Give it a moment and cut it, cool. So let's draw the pattern
8:32
We draw the same pattern once more, confirm. Then you need to confirm it just so you can create the second space
8:44
That's what it was. And now we can start drawing the second space password
8:48
So I'm going to make it a reverse one. Like so. There we go. Confirm
8:55
And here you go. So you can also add a fingerprint if you wish to
9:01
I would advise on doing so, but just to save on time, I would have to
9:05
out two different sets of fingerprints, I will just skip this for now
9:09
But like I said, you can do that, no problem. So first of all, you would add the first space fingerprint, and then it will allow you to add
9:17
the second one. I'm going to skip this for now. And once you set that, the premise will work the same way
9:25
So either you can use a pattern or your fingerprint. As long as you keep in mind which fingerprint is associated with which space
9:32
You don't want to add the same fingerprint to both of the spaces. won't really work then. And as you will see right now we're on the second space. So if I
9:40
lock the device and try to unlock it, now I can use both of those codes to reach either space
9:47
So this one is the primary space. And we're back in the settings where I started to create it
9:55
And you can see there is the wallpaper. And then if I use the second pattern like so
10:01
it goes to the second space. Now whenever you use the second space
10:05
whenever you're accessing the space for the first time between like switching it
10:11
will take a little bit longer just basically putting it up but if you do it the
10:15
second time around it's automatic like you would normally get to your device and
10:20
like I said both of those spaces are completely separate from each other and you
10:25
can access both of them just by simply either using a pattern or tapping on
10:33
the button as you just seen So, that would conclude all the tricks and tricks that I want to share
10:39
