Welcome, I'm from the museum ASUS Zenfone 8 Flip and today I will show you a couple
0:11
tweaks and tricks you can do on this device. So starting off, we're going to begin with the gesture navigation
0:16
Now by default, I believe it comes enabled, which it guides you through it once you set
0:22
up your device, but if you want to bring up back the normal buttons, you can go into the
0:26
settings, display, and in here we should find somewhere system navigation, and again select
0:34
to have buttons instead of the gestures if you want that. Now moving on to the next option, it's going to be the refresh rate, which again can be
0:43
found in settings, or for some reason just close them, even though it should have just
0:47
come back. But anyway, in the display section we should have somewhere refresh rate, and we have a
0:57
choice between 60, 90, and auto. Now if you want to have always buttery smooth animations, you can set it to 90
1:04
Now for some reason this device doesn't come with 120, even though the Zenfone 8 has 120
1:13
I have no idea why they did it this way, but this device in this aspect is a little bit worse
1:18
You only get 90 instead of 120, but still you can set it up right here if you want to
1:24
Now moving on to the next option, it's going to be associated with the battery
1:28
Now normally batteries is a little bit of a boring subject here, but on Asus, at least
1:34
on the Zenfone, they brought the battery straight from the ROG phone, which is a good thing
1:41
So if you go into the settings, let's find battery, you will have system modes, and right
1:48
here we have the dynamic, we have also durable, ultra durable, advanced, and high performance
1:52
Now obviously the ones that I would say that are probably worth mentioning will be the
1:58
high performance, which you can go in here and set a couple different things, but advanced
2:04
one is the one that is just like insane. So I don't think I have seen any battery settings like this
2:12
It basically allows you to set limits to anything or overclock it
2:16
So we have thermal limits, we have GPU performance, CPU performance, RAM performance, and so on
2:22
And additionally you can set what kind of Wi-Fi it uses, what kind of LTE or 5GHz it
2:29
uses, along with screen refresh rates, and so on. You can toggle it all in here to have it basically meet whatever you want it to do
2:40
And once you are satisfied with all the settings, save it and simply enable it
2:45
And yeah, you will basically have the most control you can have over your phone and how
2:51
it performs, to be honest. But anyway, moving on to the next option, it's going to be the animation speed, which
2:59
on Asus, again, really nicely done. It doesn't need to be activated through the developer options
3:05
It just neatly slashed away in the display section. It's pulled out straight out of the developer options because it's the same settings, same
3:17
names for it, but you don't actually need to enable them and they're not hard to find
3:22
They're under the display. Let's quickly find it. It should be somewhere in here
3:29
There we go, animation speed. So you have the three different animations, animation scale, animation duration scale
3:35
and transition animation scale. And basically, the transition... Oh, never mind. We don't actually have the window here popping up to choose from
3:47
So anyway, once you tap on it, you can set it to 0.5, which is what I would recommend
3:54
It still retains animations, but speeds them up by basically 50%, so they're twice as fast
4:02
And that basically means that whatever you're opening up or transitioning through different applications, animations will be faster than they were before
4:13
And moving on to the last option, it's going to be the status bar icons
4:18
Now, as you can see, status bar here is fairly nice and clean
4:22
If I could also disable the... There we go. So as you can see, status bar is fairly nice and clean
4:28
It only has a couple of toggles. There's no camera bump, which is nice, but we can make it even cleaner if that is something
4:35
that you want to make it look minimalistic and get rid of, for instance, toggles that
4:38
you don't really care about or at least don't want to see them all the time because, for
4:43
instance, you never disable them. So one of those toggles is probably something like an alarm clock
4:48
Some phones show it in notifications for some reason, and it honestly bugs my mind why
4:57
But anyway, to disable it, let's go again to the display. It looks like everything is just hidden in the display
5:03
And in here, we should see somewhere status bar icon manager. And you can see that there's a huge plethora of different things you can toggle on or off
5:15
So simply select whichever one you want. Obviously, you can basically disable all of them if there is nothing that you want
5:27
So you can see right now I basically removed everything. Now, this is probably not the way you would want to go about it, but it is an option if
5:36
you want to. Now, something that I would keep is just battery and battery or and clock
5:44
Clock. Now, additionally, the gear icon is just from a setup. As you can see, finish up setup
5:50
Once you deal with this or if you already have dealt with it, you shouldn't see any
5:54
kind of gear icon there. But yeah, allows you to customize your status bar fairly neatly and really recommend it
6:01
Now, that being said, this would conclude all the tweaks and tricks I wanted to share. And if you found this very helpful, don't forget to hit like, subscribe, and thanks
