Welcome
0:07
And following me is a Huawei Mate 11 or MatePad 11. And today I will show you how to go through the setup of this device
0:16
So this is under a new tablet that is running Harmony OS instead of just a typical Android 11 or something like this
0:24
So anyway, once you put it up for the first time you should be presented with this wonky-looking language selection
0:29
selection at Huawei if you're listening, this is bad. Just bring back the list, don't try to be special or anything
0:38
I personally saying don't like this. So anyway, find your desired language, which I will be sticking with the default one
0:44
but I was already selected. And once you can see this bubble, but what you do is just, oh boy, it also switches places
0:51
Oh my, why? So once you find it, I can then select Get Started
0:58
From here, choose your region obviously. In terms of use, no device can go without it
1:04
So select the first one that I have read and agreed the user license agreement and you
1:08
can proceed further. We've connected to a network, which for some stupid reason it is a requirement
1:16
Why that f is this a requirement? What are you trying to be like Samsung
1:23
So even though this device isn't locked because I did a reset through settings and additionally
1:28
I don't think it had like any kind of protection on their set so there is no
1:34
reason to need to actually look into Wi-Fi because there is no need to
1:39
verify anything it's still a thing so yeah go figure to for some reason obligatory Wi-Fi connection, we can proceed further with our setup
2:05
So we have data privacy. Honestly, it looks like there's no other option but pressing next and basically agreeing to it
2:13
But you have a entire list of things that you basically agree to So anyway let go to the next page Activating device Huawei ID So obviously by logging into the Huawei ID we get access to a couple different things
2:26
that are provided right here. Like App Gallery Cloud, PIP Hotline. Why
2:34
We have Huawei videos, member discounts and whatever. So honestly, probably the most important one here
2:44
And the only reason why you would probably use Huawei ID is for the app gallery
2:51
This device is basically right now a blatant copy of iOS with everything that iOS does in a way
2:59
Even the entire operating system looks like it. So to download any kind of apps, you need Huawei ID, which is basically Apple ID, go figure
3:08
So you can download any apps. The rest of them, I probably wouldn't care
3:12
Maybe cloud if you want to use. or store things on the cloud, but everything else on here, it's kind of redundant, like the
3:20
Huawei videos, why the hell would you use those? Just download a better video player from the
3:25
app gallery. Now, on the next page we have the Huawei ID, like I mentioned, so if you don't
3:32
want to log into it for now, for whatever reason, you can do it by basically, again, like you
3:38
would do on any kind of iOS, you would select here, don't have or forget it, and you'll
3:44
have the option to sign up later into it. Exactly the same was as iOS has. So select leave
3:52
And again they also do the same manipulative tactic of like switching the options around
3:56
so it confuses people. But yeah, nice. I just don't like that. Anyway, this brings us to
4:05
some media services, enable Huawei video service and enable Huawei book services. So I assume
4:13
Okay, there's a couple more. So either it's just their apps or some kind of..
4:20
It looks like it's just some kind of apps. So I'm going to select later. When you try to open those apps
4:24
it will most likely prompt you with this thing to agree to whatever the heck that is anyway. So it doesn't really matter if you agree to it here or not
4:31
You have Huawei Mobile Services. Now these are the blatant little red flags right here that I have So we have ad ID statistics personalized ads Those are the two that I absolutely despise
4:43
So number one, the ad ID statistics, just, what is it, when enabled
4:48
your information will be used to evaluate and improve the performance of your whatever know
4:54
It's basically whatever you do, we know, and we'll try to spam you with whatever the heck you are looking for
5:00
whatever it is that you're doing. Yeah. Do we have personalized ads
5:04
Again, basically the same thing. Spies on what you search for, and then basically gives you ads based on that
5:09
So yeah, both of them are a big no-no for me. I personally hate spying trash like this
5:14
So, yeah, I'm going to disable them. Not sure how much actual effect it will have
5:19
but, yeah, at least I won't have ads based on whatever I'm searching for now
5:24
And lastly, we have the auto-update. So if you want, have it on
5:30
if you don't honestly just a matter of preference. Then we have device protection, so we have two different ways of going about it
5:37
to have face recognition. Okay, there is actually a camera I didn't see it
5:42
So we have face recognition and also pin pattern or password. Now if you're planning to use face recognition, you will also be required to set one of
5:49
pin pattern and password, whichever one you choose. But I'll be going just with a pattern right here, so select it
5:57
and there we go and it's now set and right here brings us back to the last option that is left
6:05
which is the face recognition but you simply skip it if you don't want to set it up
6:09
we have enhanced services so again some more weird stuff read it if you are interested in it
6:16
obviously I'm not so I'm going to select no thanks user experience improvement programs
6:21
no thanks later share ytics yeah definitely not location services this will be used for
6:27
for instance like GPS tracking if you were using whatever the equivalent of here is of Google Maps
6:33
I actually have no idea and the location services use global navigation satellite system
6:40
position network information so it also uses Wi-Fi cellular Bluetooth and IP to track your
6:46
location so again if you don't want this you can disable this but like I said
6:51
maps will require this most likely keep yourself up today now this is another amazingly annoying thing We have enable and continue but if you want to not enable and continue
7:03
you have to press right here, update manually, and then completely contradictory to what you might think
7:11
you want to select don't enable. Which you selected enable manually and then you selected don't enable
7:20
But if you read the entire message it says, a message it says. It basically makes sense then. Now lastly we have some petal search which is
7:28
equivalent of Google search. I assume if you select accept it just goes to a setup like voice
7:34
training and stuff like that but I'm not going to be going over this. And then we have data
7:38
imports so this is actually a fairly good part right here. So if you have an old device you can basically
7:45
copy all the apps and the data from your old device to this one. And additionally this can be done also
7:51
past the setup. So what you can use this for, like the, what is it, Huawei, where is this
7:57
setup is NeoMovData from another device. They used like this phone clone application, it's basically
8:03
the same thing, which you can download on Android, although you need to go to the website because
8:08
the app isn't accessible on Play Store. So once you get that app, what you can do is basically
8:13
download any kind of app on your old device that would be only exclusive to Play Store
8:17
and then basically imported using that program over to here. even though the device doesn't have it in an app gallery
8:25
and you shouldn't be able to download it, you can basically import it like that easily. So just a little tip for the people that might be interested in this
8:31
But anyway, I'm setting it up as new, so that's what I'm going to be choosing with. And we have new navigation gestures
8:37
so let's not go ahead of ourselves. Gesture navigation isn't new. It's been out for like five years
8:41
And giving us the guide after five years is a little bit annoying, so yeah, I'm going to just close it
8:46
I'm pretty sure everyone of us knows how to use gesture navigation
8:50
So we can now finish And there we go, we have now our iOS clone home screen
8:56
So yeah So if you found this video helpful Don't forget to hand like, subscribe and thanks for watching
