Welcome! In front of me is a Nokia G42 and today I will show you how you can record a screen on this phone
0:11
So to get started we will need to pull down our toggles by swiping down from the top of our screen
0:16
and swipe down once again to extend the list of toggles and on one of the pages you should have a screen recording toggle
0:24
Now let's see where it is. Okay, so for me it is on the second page right over here
0:27
Now once you see it you can simply tap on it. This will give you this pop-up window right here
0:32
allowing you to choose what kind of audio will be recorded. By default it's device only
0:36
but you can tap on the drop-down and select also microphone or microphone and device audio
0:43
Now one thing that I'll mention is this is toggled off generally by default
0:50
so if you want to record any kind of audio, the system, a microphone or both you will need to turn that on
0:57
Now second below that is the show touches on the screen which I'll enable just so you can see how that looks like
1:03
but it will just record a semi-transparent grey dot on the screen wherever my finger was touching the display
1:10
so we can see that on the recording. I'm gonna select start, it will begin a countdown
1:16
and then begin recording with a vibration. So whatever I'll do right now will be recorded by the device
1:24
I'm gonna open up Netflix just so I can showcase annoyances for screen recorder
1:29
so anyone can see what kind of might happen in certain applications
1:38
Good enough. You can see there's content. I do want to point that out. We have a bunch of content visible right here
1:43
This is nothing like plagiaristic, let's call it this way. It's just basically ads and information about enjoying whatever
1:52
and things you can do in the app. So let's close this and also let's stop recording
1:58
which you do by swiping down and selecting stop as you've just seen. Now once you stop recording, it automatically saves the screen recording to your gallery application
2:08
I'm not gonna back it up. Now from here we're gonna navigate to the library
2:15
and you'll see there's a movie folder or album which you can open up
2:19
and in here you'll find your screen recordings. There it is. And as you can see it's already playing. You can also see this grayish dot
2:30
That's where my finger was pressing. Now what you're about to be presented with is a fully black screen
2:39
and this is completely normal, at least for this garbage application. So some applications on your phone have a little bit more control over your device than you do
2:47
and one of those shitty applications would be Netflix. So it is literally blocking screen recorder from being able to see the application
2:55
It cannot block the sound, thank God, but as you can see it blocks the visuals of it
3:04
There was nothing sensitive visible there so there's no reason for it to actually be blocking
3:09
The reason they're doing it is strictly for piracy. It's not like it's stopping it
3:14
but in any case that's what they're trying to do. The problem here is it's absolutely intrusive that an application like this can know
3:22
what you are doing on your device, like recording screen, and then also have the control to stop it
3:28
Now that being said you don't have any option to stop this from happening
3:32
There's literally nothing you can do about it. So yeah, fun times
3:36
Now, that being said, Netflix won't be the only application that you might encounter that is doing this
3:42
There's also going to be applications, primarily streaming applications that will do this
3:47
but there are also ones that actually do this for legitimate reasons like bank applications
3:52
which is at that point for your own safety and security. So obviously you probably wouldn't want some malicious application screen pinning
4:00
what you're doing in your bank app and what kind of pin you're putting in
4:04
and then have basically just fully visible way of logging into your bank application
4:11
So that would be actually a nice thing, and that is for safety
4:15
So obviously from what I said, you can guess that you won't be able to record your bank apps either
4:23
But anyway, with this being said, whenever you find black screen as a recording
4:27
even though you know you were recording something, just know that it's an application that is blocking it
4:32
and there is nothing you can do as far as I'm aware. For any other application, you should be able to record it without any kind of problem
4:42
With that being said, hopefully you found this very helpful. If you did, don't forget to hit like, subscribe, and thanks for watching
