Welcome, I'm filming with a Samsung Galaxy A50 and today I'll show you how to perform
0:09
a hard reset of the device in order to get rid of a screen lock
0:13
So as you will see this device has a screen lock, I just know the passcode to it
0:19
But assuming you don't and you're stuck on this screen we're gonna progress basically from here
0:23
So first of all you need to shut off the device and probably as you already know you can't do that without actually confirming the passcode
0:29
So if I tap on here it will tell you draw pattern to turn off phone
0:34
So we need to forcibly shut off the device by holding power key and I think it is volume
0:38
down and the moment the device, the screen goes black you want to switch to volume up
0:44
while continuing holding the power key. So let's just try that. Now if the device boots back up normally just try that again and alter how long you were
0:54
holding or when you switch the keys. So right now we're on a screen and as you can see it's on so volume down and power key
1:08
And immediately now that it's off switch to volume up. And it worked
1:16
So as you've seen the moment the screen goes black you want to immediately slide your finger
1:19
over to volume up instead of volume down. While continue holding the power key
1:26
And from here we're now in the recovery mode so we can then perform a reset of the device
1:30
by scrolling down to wipe data factory reset using volume keys to navigate
1:36
So volume up to go up and down to go down. And once it's selected you want to press power key to confirm it
1:42
Then select yes to basically confirm it once more and power key
1:46
And you'll see on the bottom wiping data and then the last thing should be data wipe complete
1:50
although on this device it's a little bit cut off because of the rounded corners. Whatever
1:55
So once it's finished you'll be back in the main page and reboot system now should be
1:59
selected by default. So all you really need to do is press power key
2:04
And the device will now reboot while it's continuing to do the hard reset process in
2:08
the background. So it will take a little bit longer than it normally does for the device to turn on
2:15
But once it's back on we can then set up the device and you will see that there is no more
2:19
screen lock. Now keep in mind you will need to if you were logged into Google you had an account there
2:26
you will need to confirm it after the reset. So keep that in mind
2:31
But assuming you only didn't know the passcode then that shouldn't be any problem
2:49
And as you can see now the process is finished
3:05
So I'm going to go through the setup process fairly quickly just to show you that there is no screen lock
3:10
So let me switch to English first. Right here. Click on OK
3:17
And let's continue on. Now let's turn you off and continue
3:28
Now if you had a Google account you won't be able to skip it like I was
3:33
You will actually have to connect it to it and then confirm it later on
3:36
So that's one of the drawbacks of it. But as you can see I was able to skip it because I logged out before
3:57
And you can see we're now on the home screen. And if I were to lock the device and unlock it now you can see no more lock screen
4:07
