Welcome! In front of me is a nothing phone 2 and today I'll show you how you can hard reset this device through recovery mode
0:13
Now that being said, doing this through recovery mode, the reset, will allow you to get rid of screen locks if you have one set that you just don't know
0:22
But there is also a double sided edge to it, so when you do this, most likely your device will become FRP locked
0:29
So if your device is logged into a Google account and has a screen lock and you do this, then later on you will need to verify one of those two things
0:37
Either the Google account or the screen lock when you're going through the setup of your phone after the reset
0:43
If you don't know either one of those, the device kind of becomes unusable because you won't be able to finish up the setup
0:49
Now that being said, luckily I do have a method of bypassing this, so for anyone interested in how you can circumvent this verification process, I'll be recording that in a separate video
1:00
Just a bit of a shameless plug, but it might be important to some people
1:04
Now, jumping to this one, I'm gonna lock the device, just so you can see I do have a pattern set right here and I'll progress from the lock screen as though I don't know my pattern
1:14
And number one, we'll need to hold our power button and volume up at the same time, then select power off
1:20
And when the device turns off, hold your power button and volume down at the same time
1:32
This will take us to boot mode, so in here, using volume buttons, either up or down, to navigate you want to select recovery mode, like this, and then confirm it using your power button
1:43
Next thing you'll see is Android with no command, so once you do, you want to hold your power button and press volume up once
1:51
Like this. Now in here, again, we'll be using volume buttons to navigate, and we want to select wipe data, factory reset, I'm gonna bring the screen a little bit closer just so you can see the options
2:05
There we go. And once it's selected, like it is for me right now, you want to confirm it using your power button
2:13
Now from here, we're gonna select factory data reset, which is the second option, and again, we're gonna confirm it
2:22
It will give us a message formatting data and then data wipe complete, at which point reboot system now will be selected by default
2:29
This happens almost instantly, so we can now press power button. It will initiate the said reboot and continue resetting the device and the background
2:39
It will take the device a little bit longer to boot back up. Don't worry, that's completely normal
2:44
Once it's finished resetting it, it will then greet us with a setup screen
2:48
So I'll be back once that is visible for me. And as you can see, the process is now finished, and you can set up your device however you like
