Welcome, in front of me is a Huawei P50 Pocket and today I'll show you how you can enable
0:14
and also set up your power saving mode. So let's pull down our little toggle tray which is accessible when you do it from the
0:24
top right side of the screen. So exactly from this portion, if you do it from the other one you get your notifications
0:34
obviously as you can see, so make sure you pull down the correct one
0:39
So from here let's look for our power saving mode
0:51
Looks like it's not here by default, so I'm gonna press on this button right here next
0:56
to the settings, let's gonna select edit switches and there we go, we have our power
1:02
saving mode right here from the toggles that are turned off and that's the only one we
1:06
can see. So I'm gonna grab it, then drag it to the top, drop it, select done and now I can quickly
1:13
access it. So from here we can tap on it to turn it on at any moment in time that we want to
1:20
Additionally we can hold it and this will quickly take us to the settings
1:25
Now in here you can see right now we have 93% battery life and with power saving mode
1:32
off, it gives us 12 hours and 43 minutes. When we actually enable the power saving mode, it gives us 16 and a half hours roughly
1:42
So it doesn't really give that much battery life. That is because what it's doing is fairly minimal
1:50
It number one gives us limitations to mobile network and Wi-Fi, meaning that when you put
1:57
the device to sleep, which is this state, it will disconnect from Wi-Fi and mobile data
2:03
to preserve battery and that will result in you not getting any kind of notifications
2:07
that will be relying on this internet connection. Now when you wake up the device again like this, it will automatically reconnect and
2:15
sync up everything that you were missing so you would get all your notifications in bulk
2:20
Additionally, I also believe it does check for updates periodically just to give you
2:27
them every so often. So that's one thing and number two I believe, let me see, yep, now refresh rate is switched
2:35
from 120 to 60 hertz so you're not going to be getting that nice smooth refresh rate
2:41
off the display in power saving mode. So those are the two primary things
2:46
Now additionally, if you want to preserve your battery a little bit further because this is fairly limited in terms of additional battery gain, one thing that gives you additional
2:55
battery is dropping down your brightness. Now it looks like it doesn't actually give us any kind of indication right here
3:05
1245, let's see. Yeah, it doesn't look like it changes the time
3:14
Though changing your brightness does give you a better battery life. So if you're planning to prioritize your battery life before you even turn on the power saving
3:25
mode, you can probably drop your brightness. Dropping it from max to half will yield you three to maybe five hours of battery life
3:33
though I haven't checked how much that is. This is more of a speculation from past experiences
3:40
But brightness does give a decent battery boost so that's probably the first thing that
3:47
I would recommend doing. And from there you can also extend it further using the power saving mode
3:52
So anyway, as you've seen I was enabling it from the settings but we can also quickly
3:57
do it from here by simply tapping on it. As you can see it gives us this leaf in the battery to signify that it is right now enabled
4:05
and you can also turn it off by tapping on it again which removes it
4:10
So anyway, this is how you'd enable the power saving mode. There wasn't really any settings there so that's all I could show
4:17
