Welcome, in front of me is a Motorola Edge 30 Fusion and today I'll show you how you
0:07
can enable and set up your portable hotspot. So to get started, let's pull down our notifications, extend the list and somewhere between those
0:19
toggles you should hopefully find the hotspot toggle. Now for me it is located on the second page as you can see right here
0:27
Once you locate the toggle, the first time around you will most likely need to hold it
0:31
The reason for this is it will take you to the settings where you can customize how the
0:36
actual hotspot works. So you'll have a bunch of settings associated for instance with the AP band, timeout settings
0:46
which I do recommend actually keeping, but actually the most important thing that you
0:50
will find right here is the hotspot password, which by default it is just randomly generated
0:55
absolutely atrocious and not very easy to remember. So I recommend completely removing it
1:01
From there, set up your own password which needs to have at least 8 characters in length
1:06
There we go, at which point you can tap on OK to save it
1:12
Now you can also change things like the hotspot name, as you can see right over here by default
1:16
it has the name of the device itself, so Edge 30 Fusion in this case
1:21
And honestly, password is probably the most important thing to change just because it's
1:26
number one, you have no way of actually knowing what it is without going here, and number
1:30
two, it's atrocious what it is with the default generation. So anyway, once you do so, you can close this, find the toggle once more, tap on it, and
1:42
there we go, it is right now running. Now by default the phone has timeout setting for hotspot enabled, so if you're done with
1:51
your hotspot and you forget to turn it off, don't worry, the phone will do it for you
1:55
So yeah, that's about it. Now the reason I do mention about the auto turn off is because number one, maybe some
2:04
people don't want to have it on, so maybe use your phone as like a router for some kind
2:11
of network at home or whatever it may be, so in this case you probably might want to
2:14
keep it on permanently, so you might want to turn that section off
2:19
For majority of the people, this will basically make it so when you need it, you can turn
2:24
it on and utilize it, and when you forget to turn it off, it will turn it off for you
2:28
and save some battery on your device. Now hotspot does consume more battery, so it's kind of a no-brainer to keep it on if
2:35
you're not planning to have it running like 24-7. So anyway, once you're done with your hotspot, if you want to manually turn it off, just
2:44
simply tap on it like so, and this will disable it. And with that being said, if you found this very helpful, don't forget to hit like, subscribe

and thanks for watching
