Welcome! In front of me is a Motorola Edge 30 and today I'll show you how you can enable
0:05
and set up your portable hotspot. So to get started you will want to pull down your notification panel
0:14
expand it and look for the hotspot toggle which for me is on the second page right over here
0:21
So once you find it you want to hold it the first time around and select Wi-Fi hotspot
0:28
The reason you want to do this is because in here you'll find a hotspot password which by default
0:33
when the device is being set up it is automatically randomly generated
0:37
When you click on it you can see that this is not something that you'd know without checking it
0:42
Additionally this randomly generated password is absolutely garbage, hard to remember or virtually impossible to remember and also not very easy to like
0:52
kind of type it in. So what I recommend doing is completely removing it
0:57
And setting up your own. Now the new password does need to have eight characters in length at least
1:05
That can be letters, numbers, both. From there click on OK to save it and that's honestly the only thing that I would really
1:13
recommend changing but you're not limited to just that. You can change the rest of the settings if
1:20
you want it and go right ahead. Now if you don't know what majority of these do I would recommend
1:26
you to keep them by default. This will ensure that whenever you turn on your hotspot virtually
1:31
any phone can connect to it. Obviously knowing the password to it. Now one last thing that I'll
1:37
mention right here you will see your hotspot password. So what this is basically the name
1:42
of the Wi-Fi that hotspot creates. So when you select it you can then use the password to connect
1:48
to it. So once you went through the settings customize them, close this and whenever you
1:53
want to utilize your hotspot simply find it, tap on it, turn it on and there you go it is right now
1:58
running and you can connect to it. And once you're done with it you can turn it off by tapping on it
2:05
once again. Now I'm going to quickly check if there was any option here for... Okay so there is a time
2:13
out option which I do recommend keeping. That will turn off the hotspot when you're not using it for
2:20
by default five minutes. So once that five minutes of idle hotspot reaches it just automatically
2:27
turns it off which is a good thing because a hotspot does consume more battery and if you're
2:32
not using it there is no reason for it to be running in the background and this will ensure
2:36
that it is not running for no reason. Obviously you can also extend the timer if you want to
2:42
or you can even turn it off which I don't recommend actually doing. But anyway that being said if you
