Welcome, my name is Alcatel One from 2019 and today I will show you how to go through
0:12
the setup process of the device. When you put it up for the first time, you will then have to select your language by
0:19
tapping right here and simply finding your desired language, I'm going to go with English
0:26
So once you select your language on the IDIR page, let's tap on Start and from here go
0:31
to our Connect to Mobile Network, so we can just simply skip this
0:35
It allows us to insert a SIM card but you can literally do it throughout the process
0:40
at any kind of step or after the process and you literally don't have to do anything apart
0:44
from slotting the SIM card in and calling it a day. So then we have the option to restore the copy of apps and data from an old device by
0:58
choosing this option but I'm going to go with Setup as New and then we can connect to WiFi
1:03
Now by connecting to WiFi, later on you will have the ability to also log in to your Google
1:08
account if you want to and also restore it from an old device along with time and date
1:14
being set automatically based on the network. But I'm going to choose to skip it and this will in turn also probably mess up the time
1:26
So there we go, there is the time and it's telling me that it is 6.12 and it's two hours
1:32
a little bit too far so let's number one change the time zone to plus two
1:42
There we go, there is plus two and now it's correct. So go to Next and from here we have the name
1:56
So if you choose to insert a name here, this will change the name of the device and for
2:01
instance when you plug it in to your computer it will show up as whatever the name as phone
2:07
is and also things like the hotspot and Bluetooth will take the name of the device
2:13
If you choose to leave it empty the device will then re-sort it to or basically sort
2:18
it to default and it will be something like Alcatel One or whatever the model number of
2:23
it is. I'm going to choose to leave it empty and then we can protect our device so we have
2:28
a couple of ways of doing it, either PIN, pattern or password or not now which will
2:33
just allow us to skip this. I'm going to set up a pattern here, secure startup, now this is associated with the security
2:42
so what it does is when you boot up the device before it enters Android it will force you
2:48
to put in your security and then once the device boots up after you put that in it will
2:54
still require you to do it once more. So because of that I'm going to choose to say no so the device only needs to boot up
3:01
and then you still need to confirm the PIN, pattern, password, whatever it is but without
3:07
the secure startup you don't have to do it twice. So from here we can put in our pattern, repeat it, confirm it and there we go
3:18
Now on the next page it also automatically wants to add a face ID so you can unlock your
3:24
device with your face, again this is completely optional, I'm going to skip this by tapping
3:28
on the skip button and then you can choose to disable or keep on some of these options
3:37
We have location, help apps find location so this is just GPS tracking, then improve
3:43
location accuracy, this is more to do with like WiFi and Bluetooth search and then below
3:49
that we have send user and diagnostic data so kind of how it sounds, it just gathers
3:53
data on you and sends it to Google and you can disable all of them if you want to
3:59
And then when you scroll down to the bottom you have accept and then anything else, no
4:03
and we're almost done with the setup. And finish, once more and there we go
4:13
