Here I have GoPro Hero Black and let me show you how to change default mode on the following device

So at the very beginning let me start by switching on the device. Let's hold down mode key for a couple of seconds, wait until your phone turns on

And under general tab you should find the default mode. Let's tap it

So you can set the mode to switch on automatically when you turn on your device
