Welcome! In front of me is a Motorola Moto G13 and today I'll show you how you can
0:05
hard reset this device and also get rid of a screen lock if you have one set
0:09
that you just don't remember. Now before I get started I'm gonna touch upon a couple things. Number one would be
0:19
if you're doing this to remove your screen lock you will also be removing
0:25
all your data from the device all your apps contacts all that stuff assuming
0:29
it's kept locally on your phone. So that's one thing that you want to keep
0:33
in mind. Another thing would be if you're logged in also into your Google account
0:37
which majority of the people will be, then once the process is finished and
0:43
you're going through the setup you will need to verify either the previously
0:47
used screen lock or the Google account that was used on this device. Now luckily
0:52
if you don't know either of those for some inexplicable reason I'll be making
0:59
a video on how you can completely bypass this. So that will be in the next video
1:04
so if you're interested stay tuned but sticking back to this one I think that's
1:09
all the things I wanted to mention so let's just get straight into it. I'm
1:12
gonna lock the device and you can see I do have a pattern set and I'll progress
1:16
from here as though I don't know it. So number one you want to hold party and
1:20
volume up or press it and select power off. Once the phone turns off you want to
1:28
hold again power key and volume up. There we go. Once you see this mode pop up on the screen you want to let go of
1:49
your keys as soon as you can. Now from here using volume keys I think
1:55
yep here weirdly you can use both volume keys to navigate. You want to select
2:00
recovery mode which looks to be the first option. There we go on the very top
2:05
and then confirm it with power key. Next thing we will see is Android with no
2:10
command at which point you want to hold the power key and press volume up once
2:17
There we go. This will take us to recovery mode so from here again using
2:22
both volume keys you can navigate and you want to select wipe data factory
2:27
reset confirm with power key factory data reset. As you can see it's gonna give
2:33
you formatting data at the bottom and then data wipe complete at which point
2:37
reboot system now will be selected by default so press party once again and
2:41
simply wait for the process to finish up. It might take a couple of minutes so
2:45
just be patient but once it's completed we'll be presented with Android setup screen so I'll be back once that is visible for me. And as you can see the
2:56
process is now finished and you can set up your phone however you like. So if you
