Welcome, I'm Filomena Poco X3 and today I will show you how to transfer files from your
0:11
phone to an SD card or vice versa. And to get started we will need to open up the files app
0:19
Disregard this. Files app, so file manager, there it is. Select it, allow, new features, I don't want new features
0:33
So once you're in the app, tap on the folder right over here
0:38
This will show you basically everything that is right now on the internal storage, so we're
0:43
now on the storage of the device. And if you tap on the dropdown you also have the SD card, which has almost the exact same
0:51
folders in there. But to get started, number one we have a couple of different folders that are probably of
0:59
interest to you. So DCIM folder will contain photos and videos that you have captured with the device itself
1:05
Then we have the downloads folder, which will contain anything that you have downloaded either through a web browser or email and stuff like that
1:10
It all gets saved into the downloads folder. Then below that we should have a pictures folder, which normally contains screenshots
1:19
Not sure if that's still the case here. And that's about it
1:25
Majority of the other folders are usually empty, at least from the typical stuff that
1:31
we would be looking for. So you have movies, music, what else is there, Android, podcasts, ringtones
1:41
So like I said, those folders will be primarily empty if you haven't downloaded any kind of
1:46
app that will use those folders specifically. So let's find our files, which for me is going to be under the DCIM
1:53
Camera, there we go. And once you find it, I'm just using pictures as an example, but basically every kind of
2:01
file has almost the same property, which is if it's just a file, you have this circle
2:06
which you can tap on to select it. And you also have folders, as you can see, which do not have a circle
2:13
So to select them, you simply hold it. And then you can tap on additional folders if you want
2:19
So select files, whichever you want. And once they're selected, choose either to move them or under More, you have Copy
2:27
Copy will create an additional set of them, while Move them will completely move the ones
2:31
that are right here to a new location and remove them from here. So I'm going to go with Move
2:36
And once you choose one of the options, you will have the option to move it to either
2:41
the internal storage, which that's where they are right now, but we can just change the
2:44
location where they are exactly, or we can move it to a completely different storage
2:49
like the SD card, which that's what I'm going to choose. And from here, you can open up any kind of folder, create a new one if you want to, or
2:57
just simply drop it right over here, which that's what I'm doing. And as you can see, now they're at the bottom right over here
3:04
And if we go back to the internal storage, you can see that three of them are missing
3:09
There were five, now there are only two. That is how you would move, copy any kind of file from one location to another
3:17
