And for me, it's an Asus ROG Phone 5. And today, I'll show you how to hard reset the device through recovery mode

Now, this process will remove screen lock if you have one that you might not know the

combination to, but it will not remove your Google account. So keep in mind that

Because once you reset it, it will basically get locked and you'll need to confirm either

the pattern or PIN, password, whatever was the combination that you had set, or your

Google account. So if you don't know either of those, this probably won't help you

But anyway, let me lock the device so you can see I do have a pattern set and I'm going

to progress from here as though I don't actually know it. So let's start off by holding the power key and selecting power off

Now once the device turns off, you want to hold power key and volume up

So let's do that right now. As you can see, you should see this kind of menu right here

So using volume keys, you want to navigate. As you can see, basically volume up will kind of cycle through the options, I guess, up

even though you don't really see them, and down will go back to whatever you already cycled through

So we want to select recovery mode. There we go. And once it's selected, as you can see right on the top, press power key

Give it a second and we probably will see Android with no command, I assume

Oh, nope, never mind. So we get taken straight to the recovery mode here

So again, using volume keys, you want to scroll down and in here, select wipe data factory reset

So basically second last option and then confirm it with power key

And let's select yes from the gigantic list of no. There we go

And again, power key to confirm it. It will begin removing data. As you can see, then last thing you should see at the bottom is data wipe complete and

reboot system now will be selected by default after it has been completed

So press power key once more. This will initiate reboot of the device while also continuing the reset of the device in

the background. So it will take it a little bit longer for it to turn back on, comparing to like the

normal time it does. But it shouldn't be that much longer. And once it's finished, we will be then greeted with the Android setup screen
