In front of me is a Motorola Edge 20 and today I will show you how to enable and set up the

portable hotspot. Now to get started you will want to find the hotspot toggle in your notifications and for

me it's right over here. So once you find your toggle simply hold it

This will quickly take you to the settings where we can change things like our password

which by default will be randomly generated so you won't actually know what it is

So in here you can select the password and as you can see there it is

It's just some random garbage so let's just remove this one and set it around

Now it does need to have 8 characters in length so set mine to be fairly simple

There we go. And select OK. There we go. So we have now changed the password

Now additionally you can also change the hotspot name. This is going to be the name of the WiFi visible in the list

Can shorten it, change it completely or keep it as it is. It's completely up to you

Now below that we have hide my device which I wouldn't recommend otherwise you will have to add the device or the hotspot manually into WiFi connections

And then we have under advanced we have things like AP band. So by default it's the 2.4 but we also have the option for 5 GHz which will be a faster

and more stable connection although older devices will not support it. And the 5 GHz right here for WiFi is something completely different than the 5 GHz capability

like the mobile data right now. So this is strictly for WiFi and a bunch of the devices that have been released for like

past 5 years will probably have support for 5 GHz but like I said not every will

So what you can do is turn it on, see if your device can see your hotspot and if it

sees it great it supports it. If it does not that means that it just doesn't support it

And what you would do is just go back here, change it back to 2.4 and everything should work just fine

And that's about it. So I'm going to leave the settings right here and now find the toggle once more and tap

on it when you want to turn it on. That's all it takes. Now as you can see when you turn on hotspot it does use your WiFi antennas to broadcast

the Synchronol so you will not be able to actually use your WiFi during a hotspot

And once you're done with it make sure you turn it off otherwise it will be consuming more of your battery and additionally you won't be able to use your WiFi
