Welcome, in front of me is a Nokia X20 and today I will show you how you can enable your
0:12
power saving mode. So to get started, pull down your notification panel, expand it and look for the toggle which
0:19
on this phone is called battery saver. And this is the default location of this toggle so hopefully for you it's in the same place
0:27
Once you locate it you can tap on it to turn it on and as you can see it gives you a pop up right here, turn on battery saver
0:33
Battery saver will restrict power consumption activities, background apps, activities, visual effects, gestures, touch sounds, vibration etc. automatically to save power
0:46
So it's basically a list of things that it will do. Now there is one more thing that it does that I consider probably one of the more important
0:56
ones that it's never mentioned which once you enable it like I just did, obviously it
1:03
drops down the max brightness so let me just kind of combat this a little bit because it is on the lower side
1:08
Ok, it's still on the lower side so I'm going to turn it off for the video
1:13
But yeah, once you enabled your power saving mode it does disconnect from wifi and mobile
1:18
data when the device is in sleep mode. And this is considered sleep mode
1:24
So when you're not using your phone for a couple minutes it automatically turns off
1:27
wifi and mobile data to preserve that battery and because of that you won't be getting any
1:33
kind of notifications from apps that would require internet connection. So as an example Instagram, messages, Facebook and so on will not deliver you any kind of
1:44
messages even when someone is writing to you until you basically wake up the device and
1:49
at that point the phone will automatically reconnect to the network and sync up everything
1:53
that was missing. So if you're wondering why you're not getting any kind of messages, notifications, stuff
1:58
like that, that is most likely the reason for it. And as far as I know there is no way to actually change it
2:07
Now I will add an alternative if someone wants to still have connection to internet while
2:14
preserving their battery life. So there is a couple things you can do to save up your battery instead of like turning
2:20
on the power saving mode or you can also do it on top of it to even go a little bit
2:24
more nuts. So if you're using wifi and mobile data, turn off one of them
2:31
As you can see I have both of them on so if I'm home I'll just turn off mobile data just
2:35
because I don't need to use my mobile data when I have wifi accessible right where I am
2:41
So I would just utilize one of those which disabling the second one would give me a little bit of battery life
2:46
I'm not talking about huge amounts but I will touch upon something that does give you huge
2:51
amount which is the brightness. Now maxed out brightness might look nice and all that but it also consumes the most amount
2:59
of battery. Dropping it by halfway you can still see your phone fairly easily unless you're like in
3:06
a direct sunlight. And dropping it halfway will yield you several additional hours of battery life just alone
3:13
for changing the brightness. So this is a really easy way to get extra battery life for just a single like halfway slide
3:24
And obviously you can also turn off couple additional things. If you're using hotspot turn it off although it turns off on its own if you're not using it
3:31
Bluetooth if you're not using it again turn it off. If we have location enabled which I don't actually see it here so I assume it's probably hidden
3:40
Yep there it is because why wouldn't it be. So you can turn that off as well
3:44
Apparently you can't in here so you need to literally drag it over here to add it and
3:49
then you can turn the sucker off. And that will also give you a little bit of battery life
3:54
So those are the additional things you can do either separately or on top of the power
3:59
saving mode itself. So anyway if you found this video helpful don't forget to hit like, subscribe and thanks
