Welcome, I'm Filomena, Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 and today I'll show you a couple of tweaks
0:10
and tricks you can do on this phone. So let's start off by going into the settings and then display, where we will find two different
0:20
things that I want to show you. So number one would be the dark mode or light mode, which you can also set it up to be a
0:26
scheduled one. By default it's in light mode but if you change it to light mode, or dark mode I mean, as
0:32
you can see it will change it. And this will go over into settings and basically all the pre-installed apps like phone, dialer
0:40
messages and stuff like that, making it dark mode. Now the reason why I also touched upon the scheduled one is because dark mode might not
0:49
always be the best option. So as an example, during the daytime, light mode will be easier to see in direct sunlight
0:56
So probably that would be a preferable option. While during night, light mode is most certainly not the preferable option in my opinion
1:04
I would prefer not to have my irises singed out of my skull. So I would more rather have the dark mode instead
1:11
So in here you will have the option to basically set up a schedule if you want to
1:16
And this will make it go dark mode when it should and stay in light mode during the day
1:21
which I would consider to be a really nice thing. Now moving on to the next option, it's going to be color scheme
1:29
So if we scroll down, right over here, and this will allow you to set up or choose whichever
1:35
color scheme you want. As you can see, it looks like it is set to auto, which I'm not exactly sure how it defines
1:44
what is the recommended color scheme. But anyway, you can clearly see the image right here and how it affects it, the auto
1:51
So if you want you can change it to something like saturated or standard, which standard
1:55
is, if we look at these three options, in a way, auto will be basically in between
2:02
Saturated will add more color, while standard will reduce the colors. And you can clearly see those two options and how they affect it
2:11
Now between standard and auto there is a fairly small difference, but you can clearly see it
2:19
So you can see the auto is a little bit more colorful, brighter, more cheerful, while the
2:25
saturated is just kind of lacking in colors. And then standard and saturated is just a little bit too colorful in my personal taste
2:36
So again, you can choose whichever one you want. You can also scroll down and you'll have a couple different color templates, what I would call
2:43
So you can add specific kind of color to the image itself. As you can see, if I move it around it will shift
2:51
Now this is on a drastic side, basically as you can see on the outlines of the color palette
2:56
right here. But if you keep somewhere more in the middle, you can just tweak it a tiny bit, make it
3:01
look the way you want it. Now moving on to the next option, that's going to be the home screen style
3:09
So by default, as you can see, we have what I would call the Apple style
3:17
So all icons are smack in the middle of your home screen and you have no app drawer like
3:22
you probably are used to having on Android. So if you want to change that, all you need to do is go into the settings, home screen
3:31
home screen style, and change it from classic to with app drawer
3:38
And there we go. Now it is launching for the first time, so I'll just give it a second
3:43
But yeah, you can see it now it's open and you can access your app drawer
3:47
And inside here you will find all your applications. Now the benefit of the Xiaomi app drawer is they also added a little bit of a caveat here
3:56
So you can see we have categories right here. You can scroll through these and quickly find whatever you're looking for
4:05
Now by default it will be in the old category. I think you can change it by tapping right here and setting what the category is
4:13
Now in the old category you will have the most used apps right here at the top
4:17
Then under the line everything is in alphabetical order, assuming you're checking up the categories
4:27
So it's a nice way for you to get the more organized look
4:30
And also as you can see, the second page now has way less applications than before
4:35
And that's because we do have them all stored right here. So moving on to the next option that I wanted to show you
4:42
It's going to be the system navigation. And this basically removes the outdated buttons at the bottom and substitutes them for something
4:49
a little bit more modern and up to date, what I would call
4:52
So let's go back to the settings. We're going to go back to the home screen
4:58
And scroll, well, nowhere because it's right here. System navigation. By default it's set to buttons, but you can change it to gesture
5:07
Now when you're doing this for the first time, it will tell you or ask you if you want to learn them
5:11
I don't. So I'm going to give you a quick overview how to use them, just in case you haven't
5:18
ever used it. And also give you a tip how to use it correctly, just so it works for you every single time
5:24
So you have this bar, completely disregard its existence. This bar basically is useless
5:31
So what you want to do if you want to go home is you swipe up. Now swiping up, majority of people will grab the bar or try to, which sometimes will just
5:40
make you scroll up instead, as an example, like right here. So get your finger off the screen
5:46
So as you can see, I'm touching the bezel, not the screen. And from there, just swipe up. Bam
5:51
This will ensure that it always works. Now another shortcut, apart from the swipe up to go home, is the swipe up and hold, which
5:58
will open up recent. And then swipe from the side, I can see that it brings up this tiny little arrow
6:05
When you let go, this is just a back gesture. So if I go somewhere like in the settings, let's go in here, I can go back one page with
6:14
this swipe gesture. Now again, as you've seen, I did try to swipe up a little bit too early on the screen
6:23
So same as with the home gesture, you do want to swipe from the, from basically the bezel
6:30
onto the screen. So this will ensure that it works perfectly. So yeah
6:36
And moving on to the last option, it's going to be the floating windows, which can be accessed
6:41
through recent. So if we go into recent, you'll have this floating window button right here
6:49
Once you tap on it, it shows you different applications that you can open up in this
6:53
kind of mode. You can also hold the applications like so, and it will give you a couple of different
6:59
options right here, which the great one, great out one is the floating window
7:05
Settings unfortunately doesn't support it for some reason, but it does support split
7:08
screen if that is also something that you want to use. But going back to the floating window, all you need to do is just choose an app
7:16
If it's, for instance, something like Chrome that you want to use in a floating window way, we can go back to it and close it
7:24
There we go. So as you can see, because Chrome is supported by floating windows, this option isn't great
7:31
out now, so I can actually tap on it. So this will allow you to basically use a tiny little window of an application, move
7:40
it around if you wanted to, make it small by going home and access it whenever you want
7:47
So yeah, that being said, this will conclude all the tweaks and tricks that I wanted to share
7:51
And if you found this very helpful, don't forget to hit like, subscribe, and thanks for watching
7:57
I'll see you in the next one. Bye bye
