Welcome, in front of me is a CAT S42 and today I'll show you how to hardly set the device

through recovery mode. Now this process will also remove a screen lock if you have one that you just don't know

I'm gonna quickly lock the device just so I can show you. I do have a pattern set and I'm gonna start off the process from the lock screen as though

I don't know my pattern. So anyway, what you want to do is hold power key and select power off

And once the device turns off, hold power key and volume up, both the keys at the same

time, so power and volume up. There we go, it finally turned off

So now that it's off, like I said, power and volume up

This will take you to the boot mode. So in here you will need to use only volume up to navigate and you want to select the

first option which is recovery mode. It's barely visible but it's the first thing up here

And then press volume down to confirm it

And you should see this Android with no commands, so to get past this, hold power key, press

volume up once and you will be in recovery mode. And in here you can actually use both of the volume keys to navigate

So using those, you want to scroll down and select wipe data factory reset and then confirm

it with power and select factory data reset. This will begin the process

As you can see, last entry at the bottom is data wipe complete, at which point reboot

system now will be selected by default. So press power key once more to initiate the reboot and this will now take you back to Android

It will be turning on for a little bit longer than you might be used to. That is because it is continuing the factory reset in the background

But once it's completed, we'll be then presented with the Android setup screen. So I'll be back once that is visible
