Welcome, I'm from Amuse 1 Plus 8 and today I'll show you how to go through the setup
0:12
process of the device. So you first boot up the device, we're presented with the HiThere screen and from here you
0:20
want to tap on the languages right there and choose your desired language from the entire
0:25
list here. Now I'm going to stick with English so I'll just tap on Cancel and tap on Start
0:32
Then you have 1 Plus's terms and conditions so let's sign away our soul right here and
0:37
agree to that. User experimental programs, they have some ways of basically even spying on you more
0:46
if you want that. They will gather probably data on how you're using the device just so they can improve
0:53
it in the future quotation mark. You can actually opt out of that if you don't want to or just jump in
0:59
Now it doesn't really require anything from you, this will just gather data and that's it
1:04
So I'll tap on No Thanks at least, that's what I'm going to choose. Then you have Connect to Mobile Network and now you do have to have a SIM card for this
1:14
and this step is completely optional, you can insert a SIM card right now, tomorrow
1:19
one year or never and the device will still work the same, just with the downside of not
1:24
being able to call from it. So you can tap on Skip for now and just insert it later on
1:28
And again, this will not require you to do anything once you insert it, it will just
1:32
automatically start working. Then you have WiFi Connection and you can connect to a network right here or just disregard it
1:40
I'm going to connect because it's open, doesn't really require me to put in any password
1:45
And it will automatically start doing its thing, looking for updates and all that stuff
1:49
so give it a moment
2:05
And here you can either copy data from a previous device or just set it up as new, which I'm
2:11
going to set it up as new so choose Don't Copy. And here you have the Google Sign In page
2:22
So again, this is optional, you can sign in or skip this. All it will do later on is allow you to access for instance Play Store without needing to
2:29
log in and also allow you to backup data to the Google Cloud so you can restore it later on
2:36
So I'm not going to bother right now to log in, so let's just skip that
2:40
And you have Google Services, so Localization, just so Google knows where you are
2:48
And I'm kind of saying this sarcastically, but this will allow for instance Google Maps
2:52
to function and know where you are right now and give you for instance a good route when
3:00
you're driving with a car, just the GPS tracking. So this is basically for that
3:06
And several other apps that shouldn't have any access to it or don't need it will require
3:11
it as well. Most likely things like smart homes apps, they for some awkward reason want localization
3:22
they shouldn't have it, so I'll just tap on Continue. And you have some OnePlus co-creator user programs, so I guess you can sign up for some
3:33
of their programs, push notifications, built-in app updates, system stability programs. You can agree to this, read exactly what it does
3:45
If you don't like it, skip it by just tapping right here
3:49
Now this is nice. When you tap on Skip, usually you would have Skip on the right side, here it's Agree and
3:57
Continue which is basically this button right here, so let's just disagree
4:02
Nice try there. And here you have Fingerprint, so you can unlock your device with the fingerprint
4:07
Now it's the one embedded under the display. So let's just set it up really quickly
4:13
Now before you can add a fingerprint, you will have to have an additional way of unlocking
4:16
and by default it goes to a PIN, but you can tap right here and change it to, for instance
4:22
Pattern or Password, it's going to set Pattern. And from there draw your pattern, tap on Next, redraw the same pattern once more, Confirmed
4:30
Now you cannot have just a fingerprint because, well, if your finger gets cut or something
4:35
like that, you'll be locked out of your phone until it starts reading it, until your finger
4:42
basically heals. So this is a means to unlock your device in a different way if something happens to your
4:49
finger that you cannot unlock it. Tap on Next. Now for some reason on the OnePluses you seem to need to press hard on it
4:59
So right now it's going OK, there we go. And once you're done you can add another finger, tap on Next to finish it up
5:08
I don't feel like adding another one so I'm just going to finish this up
5:12
Tap on OK. Then you have, I guess, some fonts. That's kind of interesting
5:19
So you can choose what font you want to use. When you click on it, it automatically will show you right here on this text
5:28
So select the one that you like more. Honestly, they just seem very similar, just the OnePluses seem to be a little bit more
5:37
spread out. Then tap on Next once you're satisfied. And here you have something that I really appreciate finally, having navigation gestures
5:46
as a default option set instead of trying to find it in the settings
5:51
But also on top of that you can actually switch it quickly back to the normal ones if you
5:55
prefer to have the typical buttons on the bottom, as you can see on this image tiny
5:59
one right here, as you probably are used to having. I personally like the gestures, they just seem to be nicer
6:09
It gives you a quick guide on how to use it. And then tap on Start
6:14
So we do have to go through the guide. Swipe from the side to go back and either side works the same
6:20
Swipe up quickly to go home and swipe up and hold to go to recent apps
6:27
And then start and we're in the phone with it being fully set up
6:32
So if you found this very helpful, don't forget to hit like, subscribe and thanks for watching
6:39
I'll see you in the next one
