this device through recovery mode. Now this process does remove things like screen locks, so if you have one that you just don't

know, you can get rid of it this way. Anyway, I'm gonna quickly lock the device just so you can see that I do have a pattern

set and I'll progress from the lock screen as though I don't know it

So to start off you wanna hold your power key, select power off, and once the phone

turns off, hold power key and volume up at the same time

This will bring up this boot mode right here, so using only volume up, you want to select

the first option, so make sure that the arrow is selecting the first option, you can just

kinda cycle through to see when it jumps all the way back up, and then press volume down

As you can see this will boot us into recovery mode, so in here using both volume keys to

navigate up and down, we want to select wipe data factory reset and then confirm it with

power key. Select factory data reset the same way, this will give you a message at the bottom formatting

data and data work complete, at which point reboot system now will be selected by default

so press power key once again and this will initiate said reboot

Now while it's rebooting it's also continuing the actual factory reset in the background
