Welcome, in front of me is a Google Pixel 6 and today I'll show you how to enable the
0:12
power saving mode. So to get started, pull down your notification panel and look for the toggle, which for me
0:18
looks to be on my second page, as you can see right over here, battery saver
0:24
Once you find it, you can tap on it to enable it and it gives you a brief message to turn
0:28
on battery saver, battery saver turns on dark theme, which in my case is already on, so
0:34
it doesn't really matter, and limits or turns off background activities, some visual effects
0:40
certain features and some network connections. So obviously it describes it fairly well right here, I can go a little bit more in depth
0:49
into it. So number one, visual effects that prioritizes frames per second
0:56
So it will drop your refresh rate to 60 instead of like 90 or 120 on this device
1:02
Network connections means that it will disable Wi-Fi and mobile network when the device is
1:07
not being used to preserve battery. That will also result in you not receiving any kind of updates that would rely on any
1:14
kind of internet connection. So meaning things like Instagram, Facebook messages, and so on
1:21
So you will get basically messages in bulk once you interact with the device, because
1:27
it will reconnect to network and then resync whatever it was missing from all those applications
1:34
And obviously the first ones, like the dark theme, it's already enabled, but dark theme
1:39
because it's an AMOLED display, does preserve a little bit more battery rather than like
1:44
what would light mode do. That is because the pixels on here that are completely black, so basically like majority
1:54
of the background settings and stuff like that, those pixels aren't actually lit up
1:59
So because they are not lit up, they don't need to use as much power
2:04
And limits or turns off background activities, obviously self-explanatory. Applications that are running background are either terminated or limited
2:14
Anyway, I'm going to tap on OK right now and this enables it
2:19
And apart from that, there is not much difference in how the device looks like, especially for
2:25
me because I already was running dark mode. And the only thing that I can see right here is that battery now has a red outline to signify
2:32
that it is right now in power saving mode. And to turn off that power saving mode, you can either tap on a toggle yourself once you
2:42
find it to turn it off like this. Or I believe, although I might be incorrect, you might be able to charge the battery to
2:49
full and it could potentially turn it off automatically. But that is at least how it used to work on different devices, old ones
2:57
I don't know if it's still the thing right here. But that being said, this is how you turn on your battery saver
