Here I have Honor 9 and let me show you how to enter download mode on the following device

At the very beginning let's use your power key just to switch off your device, choose

power off and touch power off one more time just to confirm the whole operation

Wait until your phone is completely switched off and afterwards prepare a micro USB cable

connected to your PC. Here I have such a cable. Then you have to start holding two keys, volume down and volume up

So let's hold down together these two keys and while holding these two keys let's press

and let's connect your device by using this micro USB cable. Remember to keep holding these two keys and you can release them as soon as Honor logo

pops up on the screen. Now you have to wait a couple of seconds

And excellent! As you can see the device is in download mode

Now the phone is trying to install update but if you are not installing any update you

may easily and safely quit this mode by pressing power key. Let me show you

Let's keep pressing power button for a long time. The warning message is on the screen but remember that it's safe if you are not installing an update

Now the device is restarting and rebooting into a normal mode. You may easily disconnect your phone from micro USB cable and from your PC
