Welcome, I'm Flamingzey, CAT S42, and today I'll show you a couple tweaks and tricks you
0:12
can do on this phone. And we're going to begin with the dark mode, which you can quickly find, I believe, in
0:17
the notification panel, or it looks like it's not here. So let's go into the settings where it was most certainly can be found in the display section
0:28
Select dark mode, confirm it, and there we go, you are now in dark mode
0:35
So dark mode, when enabled, will also extend to default applications, as you can see, messages
0:42
or dialer being affected by it, messages, your browser settings and so on
0:47
So if you don't want to have, for instance, like dark background instead of light ones
0:53
in all the applications, then you might not be in for the dark mode
1:00
But personally, I feel like it does do a fairly good job for it
1:07
And also, during night time, it is a little bit better to use dark mode, at least for me
1:12
The pure white background isn't as obnoxious when it's not white. So anyway, let's move on to the next option, which is probably not going to be for everybody
1:24
but it's the glove mode, which simply allows you to use the device with some kind of obstruction
1:29
So basically gloves. Also, if you, for instance, sometimes snorkel, stuff like that, some phones that have these
1:37
robust cases with like screen over the screen, especially for like high pressures, will require
1:44
you to enable things like glove mode so they function better. Now to actually enable it, you can find it under, again, the display section
1:54
So let's go back here and there we go, right at the bottom, glove mode
2:00
So all you need to do is enable it and there we go. That's it. No, I don't really need it, so I will disable it right now
2:06
Well, that's where you can find it. And moving on to the next option, which again can be found right here, it's the lift to
2:13
wake option. So basically when the device is unlocked and you lift it up, it will wake up
2:20
Now, there we go. As you can see, without pressing any buttons, it also vibrates when you pick it up for some
2:29
reason, but it wakes it up. So if you want to have a quick glance at your device, don't really feel like pressing anything
2:35
Just for instance, checking the time, you can just lift it up, shows time, and that's it
2:42
So moving on to the next option, it's going to be more for people that value privacy and security
2:51
And this is something that I actually haven't seen on any phone before, which is wipe
2:57
It wipes data when the device exceeds a set amount of failed attempts to unlock it
3:04
So if we go into settings and then security, you'll find this wipe when exceeded failed
3:11
attempts, and set failed attempts is by default looks like number five of them
3:15
So if you fail five times, it just simply resets the device and that's it
3:21
So all your data will be lost. But if you had some kind of like sensitive data there, then this will allow you to simply
3:29
remove it quickly and without any kind of worry. Now moving on to the next option, it's going to be the gesture navigation, which will substitute
3:38
the buttons at the bottom for gestures. So let's go into system, gestures, system navigation, and gesture navigation
3:49
And there we go. As you can see, it adds this tiny little bar at the bottom
3:53
And if you never used gestures before, they're fairly, I would say, convenient, nice to use
3:59
So just to briefly go over them, you swipe up to go home, you swipe up and hold to go
4:04
to recent, and swipe from the side to go back. It's basically as simple as it is
4:11
Now that being said, this would conclude all the tweaks and tricks I wanted to share. And if you found this video helpful, don't forget to hit like, subscribe, and thanks
