Welcome. In front of me is a Xiaomi 12T Pro and today I will show you how you can import contacts from your SIM card to the phone

Now to get started you'll want to open up the standalone contacts application located in the Google folder

You can see it right over here. And from here navigate to Fix & Manage and choose Import from SIM

This will show you all the contacts that are on your SIM card. By default they will all be selected

so if you don't want all of them just deselect them. Now additionally you will also have at the top Save To

Now for me it opts into a Google account but I can tap on a drop down menu and also choose a device as an alternative

If you have more than one Google account they will also be visible right here so you can switch between them

So from there just select Import. I'm gonna select device here. There we go. Import

It also brings a question if I want to remove those contacts from my SIM card when importing to the device or keep them

I'm gonna select Keep. And now you can navigate to Contacts and they should be visible right here

Now one more thing to note here. This right now is showing only the contacts that are on my Google account which is visible right here

but I can tap on this and choose to show me from device

So there we go. Those would be contacts that are only on my device. Additionally you can also see that we also can show contacts from the SIM card

Though if you're importing the contacts to your phone the contacts now can be edited a little bit further

so you can add when the contacts are imported on your phone you can add photos, dates like a date of birth for instance

or some events to it and stuff like that so it gives you a much more versatility to it than you do normally have when it's on a SIM card
