Welcome, and following me is a Samsung Galaxy A25
0:04
And today I will show you how we can go through the setup process of this device
0:08
Now to get started, you only have one option right here to press the button and then find
0:15
your desired language from the list. Now for me it already selected English, which is the language that I want, but you also
0:20
have different regions. So things like the United Kingdom, United States, or so on
0:26
And obviously all sorts of other languages listed here. So select your desired one
0:31
And press next. Connect to mobile network. This can be done by inserting a SIM card
0:35
I'm going to be setting up this device without a SIM card, so I'm just going to select next
0:41
For your review, here we have a user license agreement and some optional trash
0:46
So we're going to omit the additional trash and just agree to the user agreement
0:50
You can also tap on details to read exactly what you are agreeing to
0:58
Once you set up with another device, this will allow you to import your data from an
1:01
old device to this one. When it comes down to Samsung devices, I believe you will get a pop-up on your Samsung if you
1:07
start interacting with it while on this page. But for other devices, you can download the smart switch or whatever Samsung has
1:15
I'm pretty sure it's going to be listed if you choose to go through with this
1:19
And you can download that application on your other device if it's not Samsung
1:22
And then go to the procedure of connecting these two devices together
1:27
And obviously if you don't want to backup or restore data at all, you can just select
1:32
set up manually and this will skip the restoration of your data from other device
1:39
Next we have choose a Wi-Fi network. Now in my case I can skip this, but chances are if this is a brand new device for you
1:46
you do not have this option visible. And that is because Samsung does this annoying thing where they just force you to connect
1:52
to Wi-Fi network without any reason for it. Because why would you have choices in a setup
1:58
It's not like you're setting up your device, you're setting up Samsung's device
2:02
So connect to network. Once you do so, in addition to that, you'll be forced to probably reboot your device
2:11
Why I have no freaking idea. Again Samsung doesn't give you any information because it's not your device, it's their device
2:18
So just go through it. If it forces you to reboot, just know it's Samsung doing Samsung things
2:24
And from there you can continue the setup. Now because I chose to skip connecting to Wi-Fi network of any kind of source, either
2:32
through mobile or Wi-Fi, my date and time won't be set automatically and in addition
2:37
I don't need to reboot the device. But that being said, this device has already been set up for the first time before, so
2:47
I do have option to do so. So this is where it will differ a little bit for you if for you the device is brand new
2:54
The next thing you should also see, which is the Google services, and you have a couple different services like location, scanning and sending user and agnostic data
3:02
If you don't want any of them, you can turn them all off and from there go to the next page and you can then protect your phone by selecting a face recognition, fingerprint
3:11
and pin pattern or password. If you're planning to protect your device in any kind of way, so if you're planning
3:18
to use face recognition or fingerprint, you'll be forced to select also a physical way of
3:23
unlocking the device, that'd be pin pattern or password. And the reason for that being is if something would happen to your biometrics like face
3:32
or fingerprint or both, then you'd lose access to your device. Hence that leaves you with the option to unlock it using things like pin pattern or password
3:39
which biometrics won't be affected by. And in addition, you can also just choose one of those three pin pattern and password
3:49
without needing to select face recognition or fingerprint. Additionally, on top of that, you can just skip it if you don't want to protect your
3:56
device altogether, though that wouldn't be advised. I am going to select a pattern
4:10
Let's give it a second. Now even though I am not connected to network, it's bringing this stupid pop-up right here
4:21
so I can sign into a Samsung account. No I can't because I don't have internet, but Samsung just decides to completely ignore
4:29
this setup procedure and be like, if you want to sign in, we're going to backtrack back
4:34
to the Wi-Fi. Now, that being said, Samsung account doesn't really offer anything useful at Samsung, so
4:41
obviously no surprise there. And in addition, if you try to skip this, so forgot password or don't have an account
4:48
because why would you have an easy access to skip this, now it's hidden, set up later
4:52
in the settings, it will give you this bullshit of a message right here that you want to skip
4:58
out on all this basically. Why do you need a Samsung account
5:03
Sorry for that. Oh boy. Why do you need a Samsung account
5:10
You don't. That would be the correct answer here, or not showing this at all
5:15
And it gives you some bullcrap list of different things. Now they did shorten it up from what it used to be, but in general it's still just a list
5:24
of crap. So find your lost phone, yes we have that with Google, sign in to apps and websites
5:31
with your biometrics, again we have that with Google, sync apps and settings across all
5:37
your devices, again we have that with Google, copy and paste between your phone, tablet
5:43
or computer, now this is a little bit more unique, and then answer calls and texts on
5:48
your tablet or computer. Again newer Android devices can do that as well through phone application on your Windows
5:56
So like I mentioned, most of this is just garbage and you can just confidently skip it
6:02
It's not like you're missing out on anything. Then we have some Samsung services, customization service and smart suggestions
6:11
I'm just going to disable both of them just because I don't like anything Samsung related
6:16
And then we have choose your display mode, light or dark, so this is more like a theme
6:20
not mode. And you have light mode and dark mode, choose whichever one you prefer more
6:24
If you tap on it, it will automatically apply so you can see how things will change
6:32
And you're all set up, finish. And this will then present us with the home screen, with the device being fully set up
6:42
Now with that being said, if you found this video helpful, don't forget to hit like, subscribe
