Welcome in front of me say Motorola Moto G30 and today I'll go over
0:11
unboxing along a quick overview of it. So starting straight off I will mention that I
0:17
already did go and unbox the device and set it up so I will save a little bit of a
0:22
time but yeah let's pop it open and inside of the box you get the phone itself
0:25
as you can see with the case which is a really nice thing then below that
0:32
we have just some trash paperwork so throw that away we go now we also have a
0:39
sim eject tool a charger which this is for some reason this looks like the
0:49
has 20 charger but no it's Motorola a much of Oh, in a way, there is a 20
0:57
It's a 20-watt charger. So it just kind of makes it look like it's straight out of Samsung's lineup of the S-20 phones for some reason
1:07
I don't know, maybe it's just me. But yeah, it's a 20-watt charger type A to type C
1:14
So something really special here. And then obviously the cable in here
1:22
So the cable is type A to type C. Type C just what accommodates the charger and the port on the phone
1:29
And let's see, we have maybe earbuds. Nope, so it looks like that's it in the box
1:35
So let's just throw that to the side. And now, let's also get this off
1:44
There we go. So I will say one thing, even though I did pull off that little sticker, this is all just more for a show
2:07
The device, as you can maybe see, it has a screen protector already pre-applied on it, which doesn't actually come brand new
2:14
So that sticker was just there to give you a little bit of experience of how it would feel just to, well, how it would look to unbox it when it's brand new
2:25
but you don't have that tempered glass on it by default. So, jumping straight to the phone itself
2:34
I will mention right of the bat, this is more of a, not more, but this is a mid-range device
2:39
and I would say it's catering more to the low-end side of the budget
2:44
for 180 euros. I would say it's a really affordable device. And for the price that it costs
2:51
I do have to say that it comes with certain things that I really like in this device
2:55
So apart from the, obviously the display right here, which is a 6.5 inch 720 by 1600 displayed
3:05
so not necessarily the most sharp display, even though I would say looking at it right now
3:15
it looks really good. I can't really complain. I don't have a 2020 vision, but to me this display looks really good
3:23
even for the 720P apparently Also it has an IPS LCD display
3:32
but the caveat here it is that it's 90 hertz display so that will make things look a little bit smoother
3:41
and honestly you can see that right if you're used to 60 and you get this phone
3:46
it will feel like it's running a little bit faster for some reason even though it's packing mid-range specs
3:51
so things like Snapchat and 662. So that is not necessarily the best processor
3:57
It's nowhere near. But because of that higher refresh rate, the phone feels way better than it actually is
4:04
which is a really good positive, I would say. So it also has an 82.2% screen-to-body ratio
4:13
Primarily, the biggest part here is the chin at the bottom. Sadly, it is here, but honestly it doesn't look that bad
4:20
and then also it has a 269, nice, pixels per inch. So, like I said, it's not the most dense display in terms of pixel count
4:34
but like I said also, it looks really good to me. I can't really complain about it
4:40
Now it doesn't get really bright. Right now the exposure on the camera is turned up a little bit and this is as bright as it will get So something tells me that in direct sunlight during summer or stuff like that that display will look like it turned off and like I said direct sunlight
4:59
Which that is probably one of the not the good things here
5:05
But if you don't mind living with something like that, you don't plan to use the phone and just like
5:11
direct sunlight then you should be fine. The majority of the other circumstances
5:17
I'm pretty sure this will be fine. Just right now, considering this is maxed out
5:22
and it's looking fairly dim to me, to some people that might be a turnoff right here
5:28
that will not be very feasible for some. But anyway, moving further to the camera side
5:35
if I flip it over, as you can see, we have a quadruple camera setup
5:40
although I wouldn't really count it quad camera setup just keep that in mind just because it looks like it has nice cameras
5:48
it doesn't mean that it does and that is the logic that it can apply to majority of the
5:53
devices and that being said let me explain so the main camera here is the 64 megapixel
6:01
white sensor which i ask i haven't tested it but i assume it will be fine what isn't fine it's
6:07
going to be the two megapixel macro and two megapixel depth sensor. Those will be utter garbage
6:13
and I don't need to test it. I'm willing to bet that there will be utter trash. So yeah, but it also
6:20
has one more camera, 8 megapixel ultra wide. Now again, I don't really think that camera will do much
6:27
It's just an 8 megapixel ultra white so I wouldn't be expecting much from it. I usually those come
6:32
a little bit pixelated for capturing wider angle. You do lose quality, which is
6:37
which I don't really consider to be a worth trade-off. So that's just my personal opinion here
6:45
But I guess at the end of the day, it will be up to you if you deem ultra wide to be worth it
6:51
At least the trade-off quality over angle. But while I'm talking, let me just turn on the camera right here
7:02
And we can just get a brief look on how this actually will look like
7:07
So there's my plant. Okay, so this will be just a normal white sense or wide angle, so 64, but I don't think it's going to be capturing in full quality
7:22
So let me just check it. So I'm going to go with a pro just to be certain that I am using basically as much of it as I can
7:37
Here we go, photo. So we are at 3x4 which also is a 64 megapixel sensor which you can hopefully see
7:51
Come on, focus. Oh boy, that camera is amazing
8:02
Oh boy that camera is amazing. Oh well, I guess it can't catch focus for some reason, a great auto focus on the Sony
8:17
So yeah, anyway, let me just capture a couple of photos and just move on
8:27
So this will be the wide one. one this is ultra wide so let me just kind of move it out of the shot so I get a
8:36
little bit more here and the best one will be the macro here
8:44
do what so for some reason by tapping on the screen you don't get to pick
8:55
where it's focusing it just captures a photo which I have to say is a really
8:59
stupid design Anyway, let me go
9:10
And one last thing that I will do is turn on the portrait, which I believe uses the depth sensor
9:23
And boy it does, I can already see. So it looks likeasil is the only one that just by topping capture photo here right now if I top as you can see oh never mind I take that back It just captures the photo So okay
9:45
Just go rid of this for now. And get to the camera
9:51
So, let me just lay it down. There we go. That's kind of what I wanted
10:02
Okay. So this is going to be the portrait with, I believe, the depth sensor
10:12
I have to say it looks a little bit better than the actual Vfinder did show
10:17
So unlike the preview, it looked abhorrent, that would be my definition of it
10:24
But here, if this is what I think it is, it's looking really fine
10:28
Now these don't really count. And you can kind of see what I mean by this, by the macro 2 megapixel
10:45
Even though it is working well here, you can see this unnatural look even in this one
10:51
Now this is not necessarily what I wanted to capture, but it kind of showcases what I mean
10:55
So if you look at this part right over here, the pebble. they are basically in focus
11:01
But then if you look at the actual plant itself, it has almost like a halo or circle around it
11:07
where everything is blurred out. And this is not naturally blurred out. This is by the phone itself and post-processing
11:15
This blur shouldn't be here. And you can basically see it based on that distinct line
11:19
that is going around both like right here, blurring everything, and then just having a really nicely focused area right here
11:28
If you ever use that natural camera, you will probably be our cut this blur right here is so high that it's basically unnatural and just looks super fake and just other trash
11:42
But if we go back to this one and here, we still have it like right over here a little bit where you can see that these needles are starting to be blurred out with the background
11:54
It is unnatural but honestly it's better than I would have expected
11:58
So, yeah, I have to give it props to that. It does it
12:06
It uses that sensor, but it doesn't use it to the full potential, which I would consider to be a real positive here
12:13
Now, going back to this one, this was the macro shot, and if I zoom in, well, that's all I can zoom in
12:21
So for a micro shot, this is just trash. It's bad. It's unusable
12:28
And then if we go back here, this is the ultra-wide. So again, if I zoom in, as I said, it loses quality
12:37
It starts, I'm not sure if it's well visible on a camera. But this is grainy
12:42
I wouldn't consider it to be a feasible shot. This is a well-lit room
12:47
But the photo right here is anything but well-captured. And my hand isn't really shaky right here for this photo to be looking bad
12:58
This is just the limitation of the 8 megapixel white sensor. And then moving to the 64 megapixel white shot
13:08
As you can see, this stuff really good. If you're planning to capture things like macro shots
13:13
I would advise it to just go with the 64 megapixel white sensor
13:17
Try to get it as close as you can before it starts losing focus
13:23
Because if you look at it right here, the area right here isn't in focus
13:27
but if you look at down, this actually is in the focus. So it's just a tiny bit too close
13:34
Without that, if you look at this, this is really sharp. For comparison with the wide, well, this white sensor and the macro
13:46
this is way better. And that basically makes that 2 megapixel macro lens useless
13:53
If the main sensor can do the better job than the dedicated
13:57
So like I said, the macro and depth are kind of useless
14:02
One is basically being not used and the other one you might as well just not use
14:06
overly because it will capture worse results than just a 64 megapixel
14:13
And then on the front we do have a 13 megapixel white sensor So let me just flip it over
14:27
And it does some outstanding blur in a background again for no reason
14:45
trying to see if I can turn it off because this is not very good. Okay, so I have a little bit of a grape here
15:01
If you look at this right over here, this slider, let me just close it off. So you do have this little button right here, which will more add or reduce blur around
15:12
and what I mean by blur is if I open up this photo right here and there we go if I move
15:21
it you can see this kind of halo almost it creates this weird blurriness around me
15:30
which is just really bad I would say and even at the smallest part of it it still is
15:37
visible and I wouldn't call it very good now you can make it even more
15:42
absurd now it does only work if it I believe detects a face because I don't
15:48
see a difference in here so yeah that being said this is kind of bad that you
15:53
just don't have an option to actually fully turn it off so yeah melting further
16:01
to the actual specifications of this device which are I would say a saving grace
16:06
of this phone it comes with a couple different variants in terms of storage so you have a
16:11
64 and 128 gigabyte version and you have for those two you have a 4 gigabyte RAM option
16:19
but for the 128 gigabytes you can also go a little bit higher for the 6 gigabyte RAM which
16:26
personally I would say it might be a little bit better to go for the 6 gigabyte RAM just to be a
16:33
little bit future proof in terms of like how the device performs because otherwise it might
16:38
seem a little bit slowish and outdated if you go for a four
16:43
Now, I haven't really tested it extensively, the difference between those, so don't take my word actually for it
16:48
but the more RAM you have, the more apps can run in the background. And that being said, you could have a bit of a better experience with more RAM
16:58
And also, in terms of future, if apps are more demanding, then you will be set with higher RAM
17:06
which is something that you won't be able to upgrade unlike the storage so
17:11
with the storage that has either the 64, 128 gigabar version you still have the option to expand it using an SD card
17:20
which I would say is a really nice thing but moving further on
17:24
this phone actually comes with a whopping 5,000 million power battery so this is an absolutely unit in here
17:31
and considering the actual display uate this battery should last year a while
17:38
So I would assume this is going to be like at least two-day device
17:45
And that 20-watt charger should also be fairly good in terms of charging speed
17:50
So again, really nice. Then we can flip it over. We do have a fingerprint sensor at the back
17:55
We also do have a headphone jack. And it's a type C charging port
18:00
which is again another nice thing. And I don't know. there is much more to say
18:08
Like I said, at the beginning, for 180 euros, I do have to say that this device is really nice
18:14
It doesn't really feel cheap, I would say. It comes with a case already
18:19
It is plastic, but honestly, for the price and what it comes with
18:24
I would say this is a really good device for the price. And finishing it off
18:30
if you're planning to pick it up, I don't really have any problems with this device
18:35
and I could basically recommend you if you really want to get this one. There might be some other alternatives, for instance from like Xiaomi
18:45
but if you're not really wanting to get some kind of Chinese phone, then Motorola will be a really good alternative
18:52
