Welcome
0:02
In front of me I have Huawei FreeBats Pro and today I'll go over unboxing along with an overview of, well, the quality of them I guess
0:16
So let's pop it open. So right of the box you can see right here that they are apparently noise cancelling
0:25
Now at the moment at the time of purchasing, which is beginning of 2020
0:29
2020, they were, at least where I'm from, which is Poland, on sale for basically about
0:36
like 40% off, 30%, which would be 500 PLN, normally they go for like 700, which I guess makes
0:45
it a little bit over a hundred dollars. And by default they cost a little bit more
0:51
Now popping it open as you can see nothing in here. And here we got the buds itself straight out of the way
0:59
Then, just a little bit of a weird packaging right here that doesn't really want to go, come out
1:08
So once you take this part out, now we have a couple things in here
1:12
So, unfortunately, the placement of ear tips is really dumb. You can see that they're right at the bottom
1:20
So when you pop it out, they just kind of fall out. So let's just take it out the other way around
1:27
But in here you can see we have the cable, neatly package. This basically looks like it's straight out of Apple product
1:34
The way it's using paper to have this cable neatly wrapped, but it's not really important
1:43
And I guess that's basically all we get in the box, paperwork, three different ear tips, one being already pre-applied
1:50
And then in here we get the headphones themselves. As can see, that's kind of the size of them
1:54
Now I'm going to actually quickly compare them to ones that... Let me just kind of set this to the side
2:02
I'm going to compare them to ones that I use on a daily basis, which, to be honest, I would always consider to be better
2:10
The only downside they are not noise cancelling. So popping down out, this is the size of the ones that I use on a daily basis
2:20
They don't have this stem, as you can see. So when you compare the size, there they are
2:25
It was one of my choices that I was thinking about getting
2:29
So in terms of just the length of the stem, you can see this will, this part will I guess stick out a little bit less than on
2:39
these are the, what was it, sound peats, true engine, something. Let me quickly check, I have the added on my phone
2:51
So these are the self-peached through engine at 3SE. Now personally I really love these bots but that's not really about them
3:02
So these ones. And the size, as can see, they kind of look like a hair dryer
3:08
The stem is quite short but it is a little bit on a thick side I would say
3:13
The design of it not really sure why Probably making it a little bit more rounded and about actual like square size or square shape It would have worked out a little bit better but who am I to judge
3:27
I'm not really any design engineer or anything like that. So going into the sound quality, let me quickly hide this one away
3:39
I'm going to put this next to the microphone, which is right over here
3:43
So let's first get my phone and see what I'm plugged into
3:49
So right now there should be connected, so let's see if they actually are
3:53
I'm going to actually take out both of them. Nope, that's not going through them
4:04
So I believe I need to somehow make them think that they're inside of an ear
4:13
Nope, not like that. No, there we go. So I kind of have to like plug it up as I can see
4:28
So... Now this will be almost the loud as they go. I don't want to really max them out so they don't sound distorted
4:41
but I'm going to now place them literally... place them literally next to mic. Oh, I'm disconnected now
5:12
Now, going into these, this sound is okay. It's nothing really mind-blowing, what I would assume
5:24
For the price, I would have expected them to be a little bit better
5:29
They do come with noise canceling, although the noise cancelling here isn't the greatest
5:35
It's honestly fairly weak, to be frank with you, but I guess it's still better than no one
5:42
no noise cancelling. They, at least for me, the bots don't really sit too well in the ear
5:49
They're quite loose and they don't go really deep into my ear c or basically at all
5:55
which makes the sound maybe be a little bit downgraded, I would say, because of it
6:02
And probably because of that I also don't get the full experience of noise cancelling
6:06
Now I could use a bigger ear too because this is the smallest one but then it's going to stop before it goes into air
6:12
with a smaller one, it's just kind of too short, which is a little bit weird design
6:17
But then my ears are a little bit weird, so who knows, maybe I'm the problem here. But now making a little bit of a different approach to it, I'm going to hide these away
6:28
or actually I'm going to get mine out, and I'm going to compare basically these two to these
6:34
Now personally I think that the soundpiece sound better but you can be the judge of it assuming the sound actually comes out nicely out of it now you know what i also going to do i going to take off the pop filter so it moves
6:48
a little bit or increases the i guess sound so sorry there's going to be a little bit of a noise here
6:56
just can see there's the filter right here okay so let's get into it
7:00
Get rid of that up filter trash. So right now it's going through the sound peats
7:24
Now quickly switching them to the other ones. No, not, not this
7:37
Come on. Let me go. Let me go
7:57
You probably won't be able to hear the actual. how well they sound in general. This is just more as I overview. But personally
8:07
the noise cancelling on these buds is a little bit leaving to be desired. There's
8:14
most certainly better options right here that will noise cancel way better than
8:18
this does. I think they just added it to make it look a little bit better because
8:24
let's be honest I'm pretty sure majority of us would be looking for buds or any kind
8:28
of headphones or stuff like that with noise cancelling. It just adds, in my opinion, a little
8:34
bit more quality to the product and also it improves it with sound. So if you're, for instance
8:40
taking public transportation every day, things like noise cancelling will help you, basically
8:45
drawn out the majority of the noises. Now, these are fairly weird in this aspect. They
8:52
don't really sound bad. They also, I wouldn't say, sound good. There are
8:58
headphones, pods, that sound better. But I will also mention one thing
9:04
For instance, you're strictly looking for Huawei, because as an example, you might have a Huawei phone like I do
9:09
Number one, one thing that I see right off the bat, when I try to connect them
9:13
I already expected it because I did use the, I believe it were, free buds light
9:19
which also come with a noise canceling. They're basically like a cheaper version of these
9:25
Now, when you open those like this, they basically work the same way as the Apple ones
9:34
Like the butts from Apple. So with Huawei device they basically show up on here when you open them up
9:41
and you can just single click, connect to them, which is really nice. But in here it didn't work
9:46
I had to literally press the button that is located right here and it's almost invisible
9:52
I would say, at wrong light conditions. You basically only be able to find it compared to these to the other ones I believe the free buds light were a little bit better but I didn actually listen to them for now several months
10:10
so I might be just remembering it a little bit differently. But if my memory is correct, the sound of those was a little bit better
10:20
or maybe the same, but the design of them was actually sitting in my ear a little bit better for some reason
10:25
So yeah. And also comparing it to things like the FreeBuds Studio
10:32
which is, I guess, the most expensive one that they have, I think, at least I'm not sure
10:39
Don't even consider these. The only benefit with the FreeBud Studio is their size
10:48
So they go around your ear, right? And during winter, it's amazing because it's kind of like having ear pads
10:54
Your ears won't get super cold because of it. But the sound on them is just terrible
10:59
There's no other way to say it. The sound is all over the place
11:02
It's a little bit sloppy. The base, there is little bass. To me, they approach a little bit of a flat sound signature
11:14
They do come with ANC, so that's a plus, but then that ANC is also not the best
11:20
If you're planning to spend, for instance, $250, I think that's the price around, at which they come
11:28
There are way better options. I would probably go with Bose. To me, Bose sounds way better
11:34
Has similar design, I would say, or even the Sony XM. Now, I believe the Sony XM will be more expensive
11:42
but the cost is, if you're looking for a premium device, premium headphones
11:49
then I would probably go with overly Sony or Bose in any kind of category if it's the earbuds or over-the-ear headphones
12:00
But yeah, like I said, finishing this off, for the price I wouldn't call them worse
12:05
They have noise cancelling that barely works, I would say. And the sound is okay-ish for me
12:12
I really like a bit of a more bassy headphones, which these do not really deliver
12:19
They do have bass, but it's not really precise. and they just sound a little bit cheaper
12:27
if that is a correct way to describe it, which is also ironic because these come around
12:36
what are it, $50, a little bit less, I think, a little bit less than $50. For 50 about box, you can get something that is way better than this
12:46
at least objectively in my opinion. Now, obviously the design of these will be a little bit different
12:53
these do have a more premium design than since this one, as you can see, it's just kind of plastic and it looks meh, it's also bulky
13:02
But then, to me, the sound quality matters and these do not deliver to me
13:07
But that being said, there's not much more to say about these earbuds
13:11
