Welcome from the Huawei Maitpad T8, and today I'll go over the boxing along with the brief overview of the device
0:12
So it started, this is the box that it comes in. You have some information about the device on the back
0:20
As you can see, more than 80% screen to body ratio, octacore chipset doesn't really mean much here
0:26
5,100 milliamp battery. Android 10, which is actually really surprising. And at the front, 8 inch display
0:36
So let's get this open. Because no one really cares about the box itself
0:43
So inside, tablet itself. Whoops, it was slot to light, whatever. So I'm going to send it to the side for now
0:53
On the foil, there's basic information about SIM cards and the SD card, I think
1:00
some sticker with the email info and then there's the charger and that's probably 5 watt
1:16
yep it's a 5 watt charger so kind of bad but then I wouldn't really expect anything decent here here
1:31
There we go. So it looks like this is a box and here you have the SIM eject tool
1:42
And inside, just little booklets with information and the charging cable now, the charging cable
1:54
there we go. That is a type A to the, what is it
1:58
the what is it micro USB whatever they called the old charging style for the for the devices so
2:06
you're not getting any type C here and let's set out onto the side it's not like there's
2:12
anything more in there and here we got the device itself let me just close that there we
2:20
go so that's the device itself so the front of it as a 8 inch display
2:28
fairly small actually Just as a comparison this will be the Huawei or mate 20 pro so you can get a brief comparison on how it looks like
2:43
just quickly there we go so the screen is fairly big I mean well not big this one
2:51
is big comparing to the body so couple inches more basically from like a normal smartphone and the device is a little bit bigger because of it
3:02
Now it does barely classified as a tablet. I think anything below 8 is a phone basically nowadays
3:10
And the resolution of this display is also nothing mind-blowing. It's 800 by 1,280 with the screen to battery ratio of 76.7
3:23
which actually, let me quickly check something. So apparently the box lies because I assume people did better calculation and this
3:36
actually doesn't look like above 80 so on the box it says more than 80% screen-to-body
3:42
ratio which is not really true in this case and then it has 189 pixels per inch so
3:50
not the densest display but then I wouldn't be expecting more. I just
3:56
just to start probably off I should have said that this device costs roughly a hundred
4:00
dollars so this is super cheap for a any kind of device actually with specifically
4:07
Android 10 as well so this comes with Android 10 and it does have all those normal
4:12
features like Hotspot Wi-Fi's Bluetooth all that stuff even Huawei share which allows you to just share stuff between different Huawei's and localizations
4:25
even has a gyroscope which did surprise me I'm really sure why we would need it here
4:29
but it does come with it so for $100 this is a I would say almost spec'd out
4:36
device which is kind of funny so then the display itself is an IPS LCD again
4:47
fairly decent for the price itself now the cameras is where it kind of starts
4:53
that falling off So it has two different cameras at the front You have this one right here and that a two megapixel camera which two megapixels were like a decade ago So you can see where it starts saving on price and then on the back you have also a single sensor
5:13
and this is a 5 megapixel camera and not really sure why there is a bump to it
5:19
I expect they could have gotten away without it so it's kind of jarring to me that the 5 megapixel
5:26
sensor has a bump and because of it as you are probably
5:30
we notice when you place the device it does have a slight wobble and I think the battery
5:36
just died so then moving on the device has two gigabytes of RAM no other choice for
5:46
the RAM it does come with two different storages so you can have either 16 gigs or 32
5:52
gigs now I advise if you're thinking about getting to shove a tiny bit more and
5:57
get at 32 gigs it will just help you a lot in terms of managing your storage and then you can
6:04
also expand it even further with the SD card so just advise you to get the 32 and like I said
6:13
it comes with an Android 10 but unfortunately it does not come with the Play Store now this is not
6:19
the fault of the price of it it's more to do with the Huawei ban in US although I did
6:27
here is something about I don't know it being able to side-load it through some kind of code
6:33
that you can buy from Huawei. Now I'm not really sure how accurate that information is. If it is
6:38
accurate then I did hear that it's cheap so a couple bucks and you can have Play Store if
6:46
you really need it assuming that is correct. If not you're stuck with the app gallery right
6:51
here or trying to find the apps on the internet. And apart from that
6:57
I don't really have much more to say about it. There is a different device fairly similar to this one
7:04
It just costs a little bit more and it's a bigger tablet. Also made by Huawei was
7:10
made pad I think it was a T6 I think something like that. So different like a different brand
7:20
basically because this is mate pad the other one was there's mate and the other one
7:27
Media oh there a media pad So the media pad T I think 6 is a little bit better but slightly and if you wanting a bigger display on your tablet then the other one might be better although the price is almost twice as
7:46
much so not sure if it's going to be a really worth of a trade-off they both
7:51
come with Androidruktem and are virtually the same the only difference is the
7:56
media pod has a play store while this does not but apart from that
8:02
This is a fairly decent device for a super cheap price that it comes in, and also considering it rocks an Android 10, has a normal SD slot if you want to expand the storage further
8:17
And the only downside of it is just a really low resolution, but if you don't really care about that, then resolution won't matter to you in this case
8:27
So the only thing left is just a poor camera. If you're not planning to take photos with it, then you kind of remove the two downsides of this device
8:40
Well, that and also the lack of Play Store. That's probably a lot of people like that
8:45
But for instance, lack of Play Store doesn't bother you, and you can manage without it and side load apps from different places
8:53
And this honestly is an outstanding budget device. And I would highly recommend it if you're looking for just a cheapest thing you can find that is still, well
9:02
usable in a way. But apart from that I don't really have anything else to say. It works, as you would expect, for a hundred-dollar device, if not even better. It doesn't really lag from my usability. Although right now, as you can see, it doesn't really have anything installed so that might change the more you
9:23
lowered it up with apps. But other than that, it works fairly well. It has to adjust your navigations, also Android 10, like I'm repeating myself right here
9:32
not a fairly hefty battery as well to it. The only problem of that battery is the super low charging speed
9:40
So you do only have like, what was it, 10 watt or 5 watt charging. There wasn't anything outstanding there
9:47
So the moment it kind of dies, you will need to spend a little bit more time charging it up
9:53
But yeah, so this will conclude my overview of this device. And if you found this very helpful, don't forget to hit like, subscribe, and thanks for watching
