Welcome
0:07
And for a Sony, Me 11, and today I'll show you a couple tweaks and tricks you can do on this phone
0:14
So starting off, we're going to begin with some of the more popular ones
0:18
So as an example, the dark mode. Normally you can find it quickly in the settings
0:23
I'm just checking if there is also a toggle for it in here somewhere
0:28
Yep, there it is, so you can toggle it quickly from just your notification panel by simply tapping on it
0:34
I can also go into these settings, as you can see right here, and set it up yourself by just switching it on or off
0:41
Like so, and on top of that, we do have a scheduled dark mode, which allows you to basically set up a time
0:46
at which point it will turn on a dark mode, which is probably the best option right here
0:52
Because personally, if you look at it during the daytime, especially in direct sunlight
0:56
dark mode will make it a little bit more difficult to see the screen while light mode
1:01
will be I would say a better option so that is a reason why you would use it and also
1:08
during nighttime when it switches to dark mode your irises won't be blasted with pure
1:13
white light which I would consider a benefit so yeah so I can check it right here and
1:18
it will just change automatically now moving on to the next one it's gonna be
1:22
the display resolution which also will be along with the frame rate, both of them will be under the display as you can see
1:32
So display resolution, we have the full H2T plus and the quad HD Plus, basically 1080p and 1440p
1:43
Or otherwise, as people call it 2K or whatever. But anyway, you can kind of see the difference here
1:51
I really like how Xiaomi just gives you a comparison between those two because sometimes
1:56
to people that don't really know what the resolution is. This is a fairly easy way to show it off
2:02
even if it might be really difficult to see it right here on the camera. You can see that this one, which is a lower resolution
2:09
has, when looked closely, it's a little bit more blurry, soft, and not as detailed, for instance, as this image
2:16
Now, granted, both of them are zoomed-in images. And also, for the majority of the people
2:24
I'm pretty sure 1080p should be for good enough, I'll say resolution, unless you're like some
2:33
2020 vision guy or gal, then you can change it to 1440p, but personally I don't really see a
2:40
difference between those two. That is just my personal opinion, so I'll keep it at 1080p. But the option
2:47
is here if you want to have something that looks super sharp. And going back down, we have the
2:54
refresh rate which by I believe by default it is set to 60 so this is a nice place for you to change it Personally refresh rate is one of those things that I do see and it makes a huge difference in my opinion
3:08
And again, Xiaomi, up to the rescue, with giving us a fairly basic animated ball, just so you can see how it will differ
3:18
Now, I will mention this animation right here is exaggerated beyond belief
3:24
because if you change it to 60 you won't really see much of a
3:28
difference in normal usage where you will see it as for instance scrolling up and down. Now on that camera
3:34
it looks a little bit worse I believe but also when I change it to
3:38
120 you won't really see the difference in it. The easiest way to see the difference here
3:45
as when you have the phone in front of you change it to 60, scroll up and down
3:49
and pay attention how the text moves on the page and then go back here
3:53
change it to 120 and go do the same thing and you will just see this drastic difference in how smooth it just moves up and down and this basically works
4:04
everywhere in the system so anything you do will now be and far a greater smoothness than was before
4:10
making everything look just so much more nice i don't really know how to call it differently
4:16
but it adds to the enjoyment of just using the device that is my personal opinion so
4:23
check it out if it works for you if you have as much kick out of this as i do um i will mention
4:29
that both the resolution plus the refresh rate will uh differ uh with the battery your battery will
4:37
be drained quicker and the higher you go so for instance with the resolution if you went for the 1440p
4:43
with 120 uh your battery life will see a hit so keep that in mind um so yeah just putting that out there
4:53
Now moving on to the next option, which I actually don't know if there is a quick way to access it
4:59
I believe there probably should be some way, but I haven't really looked for it
5:04
So I'm just going to show you where it is normally hidden, which is in special features, I believe
5:09
Yep, there it is. So special features has this fingerprint sensor heart rate monitor, which is the first time I've seen this
5:18
But basically what you do is place your finger on it and it will start looking for your heart rate monitor
5:23
Now, I am not exactly sure how accurate this is. The first time I tried it, well, it just kind of decided to skiddle and not scan anything
5:36
But yeah, the first time I tried it, it told me that I had 59 bpm, or heart rate, which I believe is a little bit 69
5:46
That was nice. Which is a little bit too low. Right now I think it's too high, 71
5:52
71 seems a little bit too high for me just sitting and talking here it probably not too accurate but I might be wrong I don really have anything more accurate with me for instance like
6:09
some kind of a watch that would scan it better. So yeah, but
6:14
yeah, you can check it out and see if it works correctly or not. I'm just kind of
6:19
guessing here. I have no clue. This might be correct, just putting that out there
6:26
Now moving on to the next option it's going to be the floating windows
6:29
Now this is accessible through your recent, so either press the square if you have it
6:36
or when you have gestures, just pull it and hold it up there and it will bring up the recents
6:40
And from here you have floating windows. Now for some reason, it gives you options
6:46
to open up floating windows from these ops. Let's see if we can just grab that over
6:54
We can actually hold it and it does give us the option to open it up as a floating window but what I picked I
7:02
believe just isn't supported go figure so let's try it with something else oh
7:09
come on really so either the amount of apps that are supported by the
7:19
floating windows is very limited or Quickly want to check something
7:32
So let's open this up, go to recent, hold it. So it looks like the apps that are supported by this are limited
7:40
So I'm going to show you another way that it can do it. Not necessarily floating windows, but split screen
7:46
And again, let's go into recent. And for instance, I'm going to be using YouTube as an example
7:51
it and right above the little pop, the window, you do have these two bars, which is split screen
8:01
So once you open it up, you can open up another app, side by side basically, or top and bottom
8:07
And you could be listening to YouTube while browsing the web if you wanted to. If you go home and YouTube is on top, it will not close it off, so music will continue to play
8:16
or sound the video. The moment it will pause is basically as you used to
8:21
you lock your device or if you close the app. But still, a nice way for you too
8:26
Just multitask. Now, I also wanted to show one last thing, which is the gesture navigation
8:36
but honestly I didn't write it down where it's hidden, and if I remember correctly
8:40
Xiaomi does hide it in some not very easy way to find it
8:45
So just, I think it was called some like full screen gestures or something like that. So full screen..
8:58
Nope not here Let me try to find it quickly There we go
9:15
I don't know if you've seen it, I went through the additional settings, scroll down and we have full screen display right here
9:23
And you do have this option right up here, so simply just select the other one
9:27
unfortunately searching for gestures even though it's literally written right here I will not yield you any results so I do recommend you to just kind of
9:37
go the way I did it it also gives us the pop-up for learning it see if I don't
9:44
have to yep I don't that's nice now if you never use gesture navigations as
9:49
you can see automatically it removes the buttons that we used to have for
9:53
recent home and back and subs to them for something a little
9:57
bit in my opinion more pleasant to use. And the way you use it is if you're in an
10:02
app and you want to go back one position, so for instance to the general or
10:08
whatever the settings was before, I'll use to do swipe from a side. So as you can
10:14
see it will pop up with this arrow. Once you let code, we'll go back. Now this arrow
10:18
will pop up from both of the sides. Now once you're ready to leave an app, so
10:24
basically going home as a middle button that was always there, I'll need to do a swipe upLeaks so
10:30
And if you want to go into recent instead of having that square, and now just pull up and hold and it will go into recent
10:37
Now I'll also mention that if you never use those before, you might struggle with the gestures for a bit
10:45
So the thing that I can give you a tip here, just so you have easier time using them and getting used to them
10:51
When you're trying to go home, don't swipe, don't try to grab the bar and swipe it up
10:56
basically go off of the screen, like below the screen, and swipe up. So just a nice smooth motion off of the screen onto it and up
11:04
which will guarantee you that you always have the gesture correctly. And also the bug gesture, I just swipe from my side and that's it
11:13
Now, if you have some kind of screen protector like I do, this one is very, well, intrusive for the gesture navigation
11:23
because it is a tempered glass, and it basically catches your fingers
11:26
see. So it's for the back gesture or if you have a tempered glass like this one where
11:32
it doesn't curve around the edges. Probably gesture navigation won't work as well for you
11:37
just because of the design of the temperate glass but if you have something curved around
11:43
like some pre-applied one then you should have an easier time using it. But anyway, this
11:49
would conclude all the tweaks and tricks that I wanted to share and if you found this very helpful don't forget to head like, subscribe and thanks for watching
